Red Lion, hotel in Sidmouth

Set in the village of Broadclyst on the outskirts of Exeter, Red Lion provides a garden. Located around 7 km from Sandy Park Rugby Stadium, the inn is also 6 km away from Westpoint Arena.

Everything. Quaint little pub, oldy worldy, with original beams and plenty of character. it was exactly as other reviews had said. 10/10. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was lovely, breakfast done to how u requested. The room was immaculate, quaint bedroom, with amazing modern walk in shower, beautifully clean and shiny bathroom, very modern. The little extras made it that little bit more personal, tea making condiments with home made cookies in a jar. You really felt like they had tried to make Yr stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

Helpful Staff; nice, well kept gardens; lovely position with a gate into the riverside park, and in walking distance to the town and beach. Good breakfast and quickly served. Similarly dinner was sensibly priced, quickly served up, and perfectly acceptable, although not exactly haut cuisine.

Upgraded due to heat to a super room in the courtyard. Bar area very relaxing and dinner in the restaurant was excellent. Sadly due to the reason for our visit we didn't have time to make the most of the facilities which looked fabulous but we will be back to do so next time!

The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. They made us feel very welcome. The bathroom looked newly furnished and had a walk in shower. The room was large with a settee and coffee table and there was plenty of storage space. We eat breakfast and dinner in the dining room and was surprised at the quality of food for the price. It was good value for money. There were plenty of spaces both inside and out to sit and enjoy a drink from the bar and it was within easy walking distance of the beach and main town.
