A lovely Inn in a central location. We were able to park right outside. Nikki and Graham are excellent hosts. Our door lock had a problem that was fixed without delay. The bed was comfortable, the shower worked and was hot. The breakfast was amazing.

Our family of four was on a two-week tour of the UK and the Royal Oak was our last big splurge night. We are fans of James May and when we found out he was an investor we were keen to stay in his Inn. The space has been beautifully renovated, the staff is friendly and welcoming and the rooms are comfy and well-appointed. We had a delicious dinner, including cocktails made with Mr. May's gin, and a wonderful complimentary breakfast in the morning. It was a perfect end to our vacation. Our day was full starting at Jeremy Clarkson's Diddly Squat Farm Shop, then Stonehenge, and ending at The Royal Oak so, it was all pretty perfect!

Comfortable beds, good pillows, good tea and coffee facilities. Breakfast was brilliant.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
Upon arriving, we had some car problems that could have messed up our schedule... a saturday evening so no way to find a garage. Luke, who was filling in for a few days at The Barford Inn, turned out to have worked as a mechanic and he fixed the car so that we could safely continue our journey. Rest of the staff equally friendly, great breakfast! Thank you!!!
Ray was very helpful and accommodating when I was running late. Gave me an excellent suggestion for my onward travel. Not to mention the Coach and Horses restaurant/pub he recommended for dinner.
Rooms were a great size and easy to access and the bed was super comfy. Shared bathroom was clean, shower was easy to use. Staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed.
The Tavern is partnered with two other pubs where you get a discount on dinner.
I liked the option to have a cooked breakfast and the breakfast room was very comfortable. The room was very clean and had a lovely bath. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had dinner at the Old Mill on the first night - a one minute walk from the guest house. The area is very picturesque. I really enjoyed the information folder and my daughters enjoyed learning more about Salisbury. This felt like the management cares about this guests' experience and are proud to promote their local area.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The 16th century old tavern was very homely and comfortable. Free parking. Both dinner and breakfast were very tasty and of good size. Both waitresses were very efficient and helpful.
