Staff were excellent, would have to single out the lady who served Breakfast as outstanding, very friendly, couldn't be more helpful or accommodating.
Food was very good both nights, Breakfast was superb.
Our dogs were made more than welcome which makes a huge difference. The inclusion at breakfast with their own sausage was a lovely touch and the reasonable amount charged per dog made a refreshing change to being ripped off at other hotels with unreasonable charges.
The Wheatsheaf Hotel is set in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park. The restaurant serves dishes made using local recipes and produce, and the bar serves real ales.

We managed to park right outside the pub- which was a bonus and the landlady explained the town parking situation to us straight away, to avoid getting a ticket.
The pub was very lively when we arrived, possibly due to it being 'mad' Friday, but we couldn't hear anything from the room.
We had to climb 2 flights of stairs for our room, which wasn't a problem for us, but might be worth bearing in mind if you are not too mobile. The view out of the window over the town and castle was fantastic.
Breakfast the next day was nice- full English, cereals, toast (lots of) and tea / coffee.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
I would definitely stay there again.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
The staff here are exceptional. Super friendly, helpful with every question, lovely with the dog. We stayed one night to break up a journey and I would choose this hotel again.
The food was excellent too, both dinner and breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble, they checked on us and even gave my dog a sausage st breakfast. Wonderful place.
I love that it is in the middle of nowhere on the Pennie way walking trail. The views were spectacular in all directions and the veggie pie meal was delicious. Make sure you book for dinner as people come from everywhere to dine there.
Roaring log fire (in June......but it was jolly cold out there), excellent selection of ales, nice dinner, nice room (bathroom very small but shower one of the best) and quickly-served breakfast. Epic location on the Pennine Way.
The Charles Bathurst Inn has lovely rooms, beautiful views, friendly staff, excellent food and drink, and plenty of parking. All in all, our stay was superb.
