Food at dinner and breakfast was excellent and the hotel has an inviting and well stocked bar. The team at Middle House were really welcoming and accommodating of our large dog and the village of Askrigg is very picturesque and a great base for some very nice walks.

From arriving late and our host waiting and helping us to settle in our room to leaving on Sunday morning, everything was perfect. Firstly the host are welcoming , friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We had breakfast every morning and the food was unbelievably tasty. Talking to the regulars In the pub they also recommended the food (We were at a wedding close by so didn't eat apart from Breakfast) Our room was very clean and tidy, with everything we needed.

The staff here are exceptional. Super friendly, helpful with every question, lovely with the dog. We stayed one night to break up a journey and I would choose this hotel again. The food was excellent too, both dinner and breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble, they checked on us and even gave my dog a sausage st breakfast. Wonderful place.

I love that it is in the middle of nowhere on the Pennie way walking trail. The views were spectacular in all directions and the veggie pie meal was delicious. Make sure you book for dinner as people come from everywhere to dine there.

Roaring log fire (in June......but it was jolly cold out there), excellent selection of ales, nice dinner, nice room (bathroom very small but shower one of the best) and quickly-served breakfast. Epic location on the Pennine Way.
