Our evening meal was excellent and the bedroom and bathroom was newly refurbed and very smart. Breakfast was a little cold and disappointing. However overall we enjoyed ourselves and would stay again.

The Jack Russell, hotel in Newbury

Situated in Andover, 12 km from Highclere Castle, The Jack Russell features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace.

Our second visit within a couple of weeks, we met a couple of our family in the restaurant who, despite living only 20 minutes away, were surprisingly unaware of the Jack Russell. They were appropriately impressed by the meal quality and attentive team members. Our room was slightly larger than last time and the quality of the total package was consistent.

Loved the area and the look of the pub. Pretty thatch country pub. Huge garden out back with tables and options to sit in shade or sun. The room we stayed in was the biggest of the 5, and well presented, tidy, modern and clean. The roll top bath was lovely too. We ate dinner in the pub, meal was superb, all staff very friendly and welcoming.
