Very comfortable with everything we wanted.
The owners were very welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. The home-cooked food was exceptional. The location was perfect as a base for visiting Hadrian’s Wall.

A wonderful little hotel with really comfortable and recently decorated and furnished rooms. The food is absolutely amazing; the chef having worked in Michelin starred restaurants.
The hotel is situated in a very small village about a mile away from Vindoland. The restaurant is part of the pub, so the atmosphere is relaxed as there is interaction with locals and fellow walkers and visitors to the area.

We loved our stay at The Twice Brewed Inn. As soon as we got there someone helped us with our bags. We knew our room would be basic by the website pics, but it had everything we needed we could see parts of Hadrian's wall from our room window. We had a great seat at dinner with a view of the garden and the Roman Soldier. The food was delish we tried some local recommended dishes. After dinner we ventured to the classic bar area and tried the Twice Brewed Lager and Gin which was also very nice. It was rainy so missed the stars, but it was still an enjoyable night. The next day was started with a beautiful breakfast, and some recommend local sites by the friendly team members to visit on our way to Edinburgh via Hadrian's Wall. This epic part of the world has so much to offer we said we would be back and will tell
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
The room was modern and large, with an excellent bathroom.
The staff were exceptionally efficient, helpful and friendly,
Breakfast and dinner are of a very high standard indeed.
We will definitely return.
Absolutely everything, if you have never stayed in a Castle you need to come here. We had one of the unique rooms and we was both balled over, true and real British history. The story of the place is also very interesting.
Fine dining is also available for dinner, and the breakfast was first class.
Absolutely beautiful setting. We stayed in the Percy room and the bed was really comfortable. Sitting in the grounds with a drink on a summer evening was a highlight. The beautiful Peacocks add to the grandeur.
We had dinner in the main restaurant and the food was fantastic and reasonably priced. I had the scallops and then Stone Bass. Both were delicious. Crepe Suzette finished at the table which was a lovely touch. Wine list also very reasonable.
A most enjoyable stay. The staff were friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was large and pleasant with a large ensuite and comfortable bed. The water pressure in the shower was one of the best we have experienced. The breakfast baps were a real winner. Great central location and close to Hadrian’s wall and a good laundromat at Haltwhistle.
We had a wonderful stay at the Sun Inn the Location was just perfect for us. Our room could not have been better everything we needed was available. We had a really enjoyable evening meal and spent time in the wonderful Beer
Garden. Our Hosts made us so welcome and could not have been more helpful. In the morning we had a lovely
Breakfast with a really nice selection to choose from. We will be back to visit the Sun Inn next time we visit Northumberland.
Excellent position ... outside in garden having dinner overlooking the North Tyne. Staff very friendly and efficient. Plenty of parking. Just off the Roman Road.
Lovely historic Inn located within a short walk of town centre. We really liked the open plan area for breakfast and staff were very pleasant and helpful.
