This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. No table booked in advance as it was a last minute decision and upon arrival greeted with friendly staff who could not do enough for us. Luckily, they did manage to get us a table but with a warning they will need it back by 2pm. We arrived at 12pm so plenty of time. Service was exceptional, attention to detail was impeccable, food was divine, win was flowing, overall a superb afternoon. Thank you to the team. Arranging to come back again shortly and would highly recommend.

Great breakfast. Great location.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Staff were excellent and very friendly
Dinner in the restaurant was excellent
It was not noisy!
The bed was comfortable and the bed linen clean and crisp.
A fantastic, really quirky, very old (14th century) inn full of character and a great atmosphere. The staff were jolly, friendly and helpful. The food was very good. I plan to go for a return visit soon.
From arriving to when we left the staff were cordial, helpful and attentive.
The previous occupants of our room had removed the toilet seat, but the staff soon had it fixed. First-class service. Dinner was excellent and the service was good. We only had one night as it was halfway to our next stopover, had we had time we'd have stopped a couple more nights.
We had dinner here the first night it was good pub grub, great pub very busy and as with all hospitality venues they need more staff. however the staff worked so hard and cheerful with it.
Helpful friendly staff, very good breakfasts, beds were very comfy, all was nice and clean, characterful and historic inn, good base for exploring essex and southern suffolk.
