The White Hart, hotel in Halstead

With gardens, open fireplaces and traditional wooden beams, this beautiful 15th-century inn offers free internet and a 2 AA Rosette restaurant using local, seasonal ingredients.

This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. No table booked in advance as it was a last minute decision and upon arrival greeted with friendly staff who could not do enough for us. Luckily, they did manage to get us a table but with a warning they will need it back by 2pm. We arrived at 12pm so plenty of time. Service was exceptional, attention to detail was impeccable, food was divine, win was flowing, overall a superb afternoon. Thank you to the team. Arranging to come back again shortly and would highly recommend.

From arriving to when we left the staff were cordial, helpful and attentive. The previous occupants of our room had removed the toilet seat, but the staff soon had it fixed. First-class service. Dinner was excellent and the service was good. We only had one night as it was halfway to our next stopover, had we had time we'd have stopped a couple more nights.
