The Plough Inn Boddington, hotel in Daventry

Set in Daventry, 30 km from Walton Hall, The Plough Inn Boddington offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a bar.

We were using the Plough as a base to sleep in over Xmas as my brother in the next village had run out of room at his house. Just the job for that. Room was comfy and access when the pub was closed was easy. The DIY breakfast was adequate for a hot drink and bit of toast before we left each morning but don't expect too much. Real ale in the bar was top notch!

Although our room was outside off the car parking area, probably the stables from an old coaching inn, it was reasonably well appointed given the price point we paid. The room was a decent size, the bed was comfortable and there were tea and coffee making facilities. The only minor quibble was that the waste water in the bathroom was obviously cleared by a pump/macerator system and the noise from this droned on for a few minutes after any of the bathroom fittings had been used. Good fried breakfast in the morning.

Stayed here for a wedding. Very clean and comfortable. Staff were very helpful when needing to order a taxi to our venue. Breakfast was good and had lots of variety, although on our second morning they had an issue with the gas and could not cook fresh eggs, just had an extra piece of bacon! They had a little bar which was reasonable. We found a little pub down the road so didn't have dinner.
