The Black Bull inn, hotel in Cornhill-on-tweed

The Black Bull Hotel is a 17th Century Inn standing in the main street of Wooler. It still retains much of its original character and is situated in one of the most picturesque parts of Northumberland....

The room was nicely presented, with a nice big bay window and a four poster bed. Comfy mattress (albeit very soft, but that's down to personal preference). Nice bathroom with towels, soaps etc.. all provided. A good selection of tea/coffee/biscuits and bottled water. Yorkshire teabags - added bonus. The breakfast the following morning was excellent - a great selection of quality sausages, haggis, black pudding and bacon. Excellent value for money. Would certainly reccommend.

Perfect for my needs of overnight stay. Booking a table for dinner proved to be a problem as a large party had a booking too. the service was busy. My table was good I ordered drinks and food which arrived in good time. No napkins and the fries looked like they had been reheated from lunchtime so I was disappointed with the meal. Breakfast was AMAZING very fresh preordered the evening before and time requested. very present chef past polite conversation.

The staff were great. Friendly, attentive, and welcoming. We had an excellent meal on Friday night and a superb breakfast on Saturday. Breakfast was cooked to order, and possibly one of the nicest hotel breakfasts we've had. The Inn is charming, with comfortable rooms and a relaxing atmosphere. There is plenty of parking too. The only issue was with slightly dusty bedroom floor (dark tiles), but this was mentioned to the manager and taken care of.

The location back from the main road, light traffic and double glazing ensured a quiet stay. Compact but well equipped room with a comfortable bed. Imaginative dishes and local ale for dinner and a good breakfast with a Scottish flavour - tasty Haggis is always a special treat.
