The Old Hall Inn, hotel in Chinley

Situated at the heart of the Peak District, The Old Hall Inn offers free Wi-Fi throughout.

Breakfast was good both days - liked the kitchen area where you could get your own juice, cereal, croissants, etc. Suppers were good pub grub. Room was spacious, with nice little kitchenette, and a good view of hills! Staff cheerful and friendly on the whole. Plenty of parking space.

The Queen's Head Hotel, hotel in Chinley

On the High Street in the Derbyshire spa town of Buxton, The Queen's Head Hotel is a lively central pub that offers en suite rooms with satellite TV and free WiFi.

The bed was very large and comfortable, the room was clean and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were all polite and helpful. The room was separate from the pub, overlooking a courtyard at the back so it was possible to access the room from a side gate without having to go through the pub when it was busy at night.

The use a GPS device was brilliant. Made the walk so much easier to follow. The old inn is lovely, really enjoyed having a drink here and dinner on both evenings. We also went to Machester for the day on the train as there is a station in the village.

Our room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The whole site was stylishly designed in keeping with the age and character of the property and made it a great place to relax after a day's hiking (which is all in excellent reach of the Inn) Dan and his amazing team were kind, thoughtful and helpful at every single moment of our stay. A real gem, we've already booked to return.

Lovely rooms, welcoming friendly hosts. Food was excellent in The Old Hall downstairs for dinner as was breakfast. We were only on a quick stop over but would have loved to have stayed. Good walking opportunities and lots of info available for local walks / GPS units available which would have been great.
