In the Cambridgeshire village of Buckden, this Inn dates back to 1492 and is full of original features. The bar and restaurant have open fires, wooden beams and seasonal food.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Perfect location near the town centre and local attractions. Very comfortable bed, great view of the river. The bath in the bedroom was amazing and we loved the split level ensuite shower/WC. The lounge cafe was beneath so ideal for breakfast or dinner and coffee/drinks. All the staff were welcoming and friendly. 3 minute walk from a secure 24 hour car park, which was also very cheap.
The location is fantastic. I loved being next to the river. The room was beautifully decorated, comfortable and had effective AC which was appreciated on a warm evening. The restaurant food for lunch and dinner was of a high standard and reasonable priced. All staff were polite and extremely helpful.
Room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Great shower! Met my needs for a one night stay. The bistro/restaurant onto the river is a prefect spot to end the day for dinner especially on a warm summers evening.
Excellent value for a good sized modern room. Dinner also good value & quality. The wines were also a surprising bonus. Location on the river bank excellent
A delightful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful suite with stunning river view and huge bathroom with a clawfoot bath. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Unexpected gem in uninspiring market town. We were up visiting for a friend’s 50th. Would highly recommend.
Quirky. Off-beat. Didn't expect it. Will definitely use again (doing some work at Bedford Hospital). Much cheaper than the usual bland Premier Inn etc.
Think Premier Inn and you will be not wide of the mark.
