The Fox Inn, hotel in Ansty

A 25-minute drive from Dorchester and Blandford Forum, The Fox Inn is a pretty inn in the Dorset countryside.

Every member of staff I met was exceptional. In fact as someone who stays in hotels every other week I've never come across a better team. We also dined there and was pleased to discover the food wasn't the usual stuff of the Brakes lorry but freshly cooked. The wine was very reasonably priced too. Breakfast was just as good with great quality ingredients. The same Ukrainian lady from dinner was on breakfast duty and she was amazing. Just book it !

Breakfast was good, although the serving was quite small. My partner ordered the black pudding with her breakfast only to find out it was not available. See my comments below about what I didn't like, too. Dinner wasn't the greatest experience, although the wine selection was good.

We thought The Fox Inn was a hidden gem! We booked two rooms for two nights. Both of the rooms were spotless and very spacious. The beds were very comfortable. We had one evening meal at the Inn, all four of us had something different and we thought the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We would definitely recommend a visit.
