The room was stunning. Our view was onto another building but it wasn't about that, the design, facilities and comfort of the room were stunning, we were blown away. The small touches like the dog bowls (even though we didn't have a dog with us, we are dog lovers and noticed them), the power show (wow!), the bed, just everything :)

The location was excellent for the reason of our trip to meet with friends. The evening meals were very good with a good choice on the menu, but I was very dissatisfied with the English breakfast on the first morning as It was very greasy and left most of it, the second morning I chose poached eggs but sadly these were over cooked.

Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening – distinguishing them from country or guest houses.
We had an extremely warm welcome, a traditional inn that serves good food. Suited us perfectly. We visited the Churnet valley heritage Steam railway, visited the Ramblers Retreat. It is in easy reach of Alton Towers and is affordable.
I loved the big dinner table that we all sat at and played monopoly, that was a nice wee added touch and the place was spotless. 5 minutes from Alton towers and you get a whole house instead of squashing into a one bedroom hotel room at the Alton towers resort for not too much more money though I believe the price has went up since our stay. These photos are from us leaving so it might look a bit messier than when we arrived.
The Bay Tree is such a beautiful little gem, surrounded by natural beauty and nature and in walking distance of the lovely local pubs (The Talbot Inn is wonderful). Anita and Mick went above an beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. Thank you so much!
The situation of the rooms is a quirky restaurant next to an inn . The garden with seating and carpark stretches down to the river with loads of outdoor seating. Drinks can be taken down from the Inn. Food at the bridge is very popular so worth booking. Food at the Inn was great, best chips ever.
The room was so kitch in the best way with a huge impossibly comfy bed, full bathroom and balcony.
Staff and the information pack we really helpful, we were welcomed and shown everything we needed.
This is was amazing experience, host Anita did everything possible and impossible to make our stay unforgettable. Breakfast was delicious, she helped to find places for our dinner and also she gave us pack lunches for a day to make sure we have something for snack in Alton Towers.
Definitely coming back to explore more around next time .
Beautiful guest house finished and cleaned to an exceptional standard. Anita and Mick were welcoming and attentive hosts. We particularly enjoyed the easter treats, toybox for my son, and the opportunity to watch many birds outside the window while eating a delicious breakfast. Really great place to stay for Alton Towers.
