Hotel Review – Spacious & Perfectly Located Stay in Melk
I recently stayed at this wonderful hotel in Melk, and it was the perfect choice for my visit. The location was unbeatable—right in the heart of the old town, just a short walk from Melk Abbey, restaurants, and all the main attractions. It made exploring the area effortless and enjoyable.
One of the highlights of my stay was the room itself—it was exceptionally large and spacious, far more generous than I expected. It even had a full-size bath, which was a wonderful bonus after a long day of sightseeing. The bed was very comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep.
Check-in was smooth and hassle-free, making the experience even better. If you're looking for a well-located, comfortable, and spacious stay in Melk, I highly recommend this hotel!

Great host and the restaurant has good food and is very popular with locals.
Spacious room with a comfortable firm bed. Everything is in good condition and clean. Top notch breakfast!
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
I loved the simple but tasty breakfast, the pension is also amazingly positioned and the personal was nice. Beds were comfy if a bit creaky. The price was affordable.
The Pension is situated in a wing of a 120 year old (but properly maintained) ex-hospital, which is quite unique I'd say. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are modern and convenient. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is fine.
Breakfast was plentiful and the location was right in town. Made the fact that we were riding out bikes convenient for dinner and sightseeing. Let us keep our bikes in the bike garage even after we checked out so that we could go visit the Abby.
The pension is a short distance from the historic center of the city, the rooms were clean, spacious and tastefully furnished. The owner took very good care of us upon arrival, she got us an excellent white wine. The breakfast was very good and we were satisfied.
Part of a lovely old building newly opened as a pension, just on edge of town, but quick walk in. Bike room downstairs, great breakfast (starts at 8), very welcoming. Just finding its feet as newly opened, eventually figured out just had to head in main door (very impressive!) head up to first floor and ring their bell. Would stay again.
From the reviews, we decided to come and stay an extra evening in Melk, rather than continue in Vienna, and it certainly did not disappoint. Large, spacious, modern and sophisticated, we lived in luxury for a reasonable off-season price. We later learnt that Der Goldener Stern also had a past as a historic inn owned by the Abbey. No staff were seen, and none were needed at this self check-in apartment. Radiator was great for drying washed clothes.
