Good location. Room was small but clean and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised that there also was a small balcony connected to the room with a good view of the lake. Shared bathroom was very clean. The staff was very nice too. Good breakfast.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. My dog was able to join and he is a bit anxious/fearful, which they were mindful of. Breakfast was tasty with bread, cheese, meats, and fruits, plus made-to-order options and coffee. Beautiful, calm area - all you can hear at night is the river, despite being next to the road.

I had a wonderful time at Pension Hirlatz. The hotel is in an absolutely beautiful area, the breakfast buffet was fabulous, and the room was clean, large, and comfortable. When I wasn’t wandering Hallstatt, I was sitting in the lovely outdoor area enjoying the scenery. It was a lot more expensive a hotel than what I’d usually book, but I believe it was worth the money.
Pension Bergfried is perfectly located for a trip to Halstatt, a 3 minute walk from the salt mine and a 2 minute walk from the central tourist area. We received food advice from staff and the a.m. breakfast staff was friendly.
Staying at this hotel is a great experience in itself. The view of Lake Hallstatt, the mountains, the sky and clouds from the balcony all change beautifully depending on the time of day. If you are going to Hallstatt, please stay at this hotel and enjoy the beauty of Hallstatt. The breakfast was delicious, and dinner on the wooden deck facing the lake was a happy moment.

Breakfast was fine, not too big selection but everything was tasty. Dinner in the hotel’s restaurant was amazing. We booked the room with the view to the lake and it was definitely worth it. Hotel is located in heart of the town and next to the lake.
