We pride ourselves in our personal commitment to the planet. Our life motto is to work hard, play hard & always have balance in life. We are a relaxed easy going couple, well travelled, young at heart, love to laugh...nature lovers....when we are not working, we enjoy sailing, microlight flying, touring the back-roads, hiking & cycling. We speak English, Afrikaans & French. Ellie manages the studios & loves cooking up a storm in her "one of a kind" kitchen with a view to die for. She will be available for anything you may need during your stay to make your visit even more enjoyable. Francois designs and creates Solidwood buildings for the Local and Export market, continuing a tradition started by his father 54 years ago. We love living in beautiful Knysna and where possible we are happy to share our knowledge of the local area, hidden gems and must do's with you, so if you have any questions on places to visit or restaurants to eat at, or specific activities, feel free to chat to us any time about it. We both enjoy meeting our new guests from all over the world and look forward to welcoming & hosting you.

Structures are built from solid wood, using sustainable, local resources, for a low carbon footprint.Our 4 semi self-catering studios are located in the heart of Paradise with breathtaking handcrafted views of the lagoon & famous Knysna Heads. The studios have private entrances & designed with romance at heart - a blissful base for lovebirds wanting to go off the radar into their own little world. 3 Studios offer romantic alcove beds with sweeping lagoon views. Enjoy natural soft lighting, warm textures & low ceilings to enhance intimacy. The sweeping lagoon views from the studios will take your breath away, whatever the weather. The private undercover decks are perfect for champagne celebrations or nights wrapped in blankets whilst enjoying a steaming mug of hot chocolate. Make use of our private courtyard boma for a fireside barbeque evening (free of charge) Our Nature Hotspot offers a wood fired hot tub overlooking the lagoon under and open starry sky (pre-arranged at an extra charge).

It offers many activities and a variety of excellent dining options. Paradise Private is the ideal starting point from which to explore the Garden Route attractions and the Little Karoo.
