The property is right on the beach, reachable from the garden. We slept with the balcony doors open to listen to the waves and it was just the most incredible thing. The hosts were super nice and helpful, they helped us to braai and gave us great tips on what to do in Wilderness. We will definitely come back!

The Wilderness has always been one of my favourite places to stay, over the many years that I have been visiting S.Africa. I love the Wilderness beach, not visited this time, for the warm waters and walks along the beach edge. It is also within travelling distance to Sedgewood, Knysna and George.

Wilderness is absolutely great.
Wilderness is absolutely great. It is picturesque, has an immense golden beach, the adjacent lakes and river make the landscape exquisite. The restaurants serve a very tasty food at reasonable prices in an atmosphere of an utter kindness. The close by Hoekwil sells an excellent cheesecake, worth recommending. The nearby Fig Tree sells a delicious bread - not easily found in SA. Wilderness is a good spot for exploring Outeniqua Mountains and Garden Route in general, with Oudtshoorn and its surroundings.
