Everything I suppose, definitely the location , the breakfast was superb, swimming pool and bar were nice extras. The staff were very helpful and the decor and ambience throughout the property was lovely - rooms a bit on the small side - no outside window but this took nothing away from our enjoyment - but perfectly formed

Three days included a Walking Tour, visit to Cu Chi tunnels, a visit to the Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum, the Ho Chi Minh Museum and a visit to the Jade Pagoda. Also went up Landmark 81 and walked through the market as well as using the new metro from the Market to the Opera. Enjoyed a performance of AO at the opera. Cocktails at the Majestic provided a stunning view of the river and the buildings lit up at night.

First time in Ho Chi Minh.
First time in Ho Chi Minh. If you want to learn about Vietnam’s history and the other side of the ‘Vietnam war’ (or the American war from Vietnamese perspective) do the tunnels and the museum. It holds no bars. We also did floating markets and Meekong - that’s a long day from HCM - you might want to think about 2 day tour to make it more relaxed. Finally … scooters … society lives on their scooter! Amazing and don’t even think about driving…

It’s an experience that shouldn’t be missed, district 1 is vibrant, insanely busy and close to the attractions, the war remnants museum, the opera house, the notre dame cathedral and the war museum. All within 20 minute walking distance. The war remnants museum is interesting, however it is very graphic. Be forewarned.
Lots of great coffee shops and food places. GK Central Hotel is lovely and the breakfast is delicious and plentiful. The rooms are clean and beds comfy, great shower. We had a double queen with a balcony and the night view was lovely. We will stay there again if we go back but will likely bypass Ho Chi Minh altogether as seeing it once is enough. We spent 4 days there.

Just a modern city.
Just a modern city. Not authentic as Hanoi, Hoi An or Hue. and the street food scene is not impressive as other vietnamese cities. only good thing if you plan to stay there is Cu Chi tunnels tour and the Mekong River Delta tour and nothing more other than shopping in the markets which is not that ideal as the prices were more expensive than Hanoi.

Ho Chi Minh City is definitely worth going to.
Ho Chi Minh City is definitely worth going to. The War Remnants Museum is tough, but a must see and the Reunification Palace for it's amazing interiors as well. I enjoyed the Fine Art Museum and the chaos of crossing the street on foot.. ha ha. I would have liked to have gone to the Mekong Delta which is an easy trip from HCMC so next time I will only spend 5 days in the City and make that part of my trip. 7 days was a bit too long for me, but I still loved being in HCMC.

Great location overlooking the river in the heart of District 1. Hotel staff were very welcoming and made the check-in process really easy. Breakfast options were plentiful with a mix of western and asian dishes on offer at buffet. Other dishes were available to order also. The room was on a high floor with great river views, super clean, modern and spacious. The option club lounge had wonderful city views with daily happy hour offering freshly cooked food and drinks, all complimentary, definitely worthwhile for an early snack!
Hotel is near airport (around 20 mins in VN traffic). Nice business hotel lobby with good space for driver to wait. Room was clean and decent. Distance from District 1 is quite far in VN traffic. Around the hotel, nothing much in the area. For business visitor, this hotel is ok but if you are a tourist, you will probably find this district boring.
Out host Kim was very kind and accomodating. it was raining when we arrived and she made sure we got to the hotel safely. she always made sure we don’t get lost in the city gave us very detailed instructions. The property is also located at the center of District 1 so close to everything.
Located in the core of District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, the Sai Gon Hotel is surrounded by many kinds of restaurants, shopping centers, and cultural activities. Located within a short distance from Tao Dan Park and Ben Thanh Market, the hotel enjoys a prime location.
The staff were very good and friendly, the rooms were very clean and the air conditioning was very good. The hotel was a bit far away from the city (District 1) but a taxi was easy to book and very cheap, so it was no big deal to be far from the city.
