Asian Tradition, French Flair and Growing Modernity
Offering a trip through delicious Vietnamese aromas, small silk shops and ancient pagodas, the streets of Ho Chi Minh City dazzle tourists with their vibrant atmosphere. Its rich culture includes beautiful French colonial palaces mixed with modern skyscrapers that show the power of Vietnam’s economic capital.
Whether you decide to visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the City Hall, or the Municipal Theatre, you’ll see the care shown by Saigonese people in preserving their historic legacy. On the other hand, the Haussmann-style boulevards are typically packed with small motorcycles that make every street crossing a whole new experience.
Contemporary Saigon can be seen in places like the Bitexco Financial Tower, located directly at central Ham Nghi Blvrd. Meanwhile, Saigon Centre or Zen Plaza are some of its modern shopping malls.
For a look into Vietnam’s recent history, don’t miss the Reunification Palace or the War Remnants Museum. A sunset visit to the 23rd September Park is the best way to mingle with the locals.

It is a city to go to but when you compare this with Hanoi and Da Nang, in my next trip I would stay longer there as people are honest and welcoming whereas in Saigon it is not to that level. Airport environment will provide you the first insight
Overall Vietnam is a GREAT place to visit.

Great city, the sights, sounds, food, drinks, people, local...
Great city, the sights, sounds, food, drinks, people, local life. We enjoyed the touristy bits & architecture. Always love a hop on, hop off bus tour, when in cities. Usually our first full day, we find are the most leisurely & easiest way to see it all & in our case we stay on the bus, we do all the circuits, then spend the next however many days walking to the sights & enjoy finding drinks & food en route. We love the back/side, streets for real culture. They're like rabbit warrens. Eat where the locals eat, see where the locals live. Immerse into city life. If you see something, a building, a plant, a restaurant or bar. Take a photo & google lens it to find out what it is 😁

My wife had her purse stolen by pick pockets and a taxi driver took her to an ATM and would not let her have her bag back until she paid him 3 million dong for a ride costing only 40 thousand in a Grab. Don't use taxis in HO Chi Minh - use Grab

This is a great Asian city - colourful, noisy, bustling, full of interest and variety. There is a new experience around every corner and up every alleyway. It's a safe place to walk around, day or night and people are friendly everywhere. As with all busy cities, it's full of traffic - the art of crossing the road is a skill that you quickly acquire. When the winds are low, it can be slightly polluted - but not as badly as many cities in this region. You could eat in a different restaurant every night for a year and still have new choices. The food is fantastic.

Ho Chi Minh City is a vibrant city that comes alive at night, with numerous bars, eateries, and coffee shops located just a few hundred meters apart, as well as refreshing riverside streets perfect for a stroll. Convenience stores are open 24/7 and can be found everywhere, from major roads to small alleys. Vietnamese cuisine here is delicious, but it's best to choose reputable, large, and well-maintained restaurants to ensure quality and safety. Additionally, you should ask your host or hotel manager for recommendations on the best dining spots to fully enjoy the city's culinary delights.

Central location in district 1, close to many restaurants.
Walking distance to the main attractions of Ho Chi Minh City.
The room was clean, comfortable and spacious, with a nice bathroom with bath.
I loved the restaurant at the top floor, where every morning a rich buffet breakfast is provided. Several options, from local to American food, and lot of fresh fruits.
Professional staff, available to provide information about the services provided by the hotel, but also cheaper alternatives around it.
I recently stayed at Vilion Boutique Hotel in District 1 and I had a wonderful experience. The hotel is beautifully decorated with a vintage theme, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stylish and comfortable stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
One of the best hotels in Ho Chi Minh City. Has a pool, fitness center, shopping opportunities, for cheaper money compared to the hotels in district 1. Person everything is super helpful and friendly. Can aberslut be recommended!
