One of the oldest and most historic US cities, Boston is known as ‘America’s Walking City’. In its heart, next to 18th-century Faneuil Hall, is Quince Market - a food haven. The nearby seaport offers whalewatching trips and restaurants serving a Boston speciality: lobster with melted butter.
The streets south of the peaceful Charles River in Back Bay are lined with Victorian brownstone houses. At the downtown end of one – Beacon Street – is the Cheers bar, modelled on the 80s sitcom. Opposite is Boston Common, a large park with a bronze sculpture celebrating the book ‘Make Way for Ducklings’. The golden dome of the House of Representatives is by the other end.
The oldest part is Charlestown and streets around the Bunker Hill obelisk still feature old-style gas lamps, though now they are electric. Over in Cambridge, Harvard is the USA’s oldest and most prestigious university. The campus is open to the public, as is Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), whose central point is an emblematic, Pantheon-like building.
Sport in Boston is also a big thing, with the Celtics and Red Sox among the city’s big name teams.
The largest New England city, Boston has the perfect size for walking and cycling. Logan International Airport is connected by public transport to Boston hotels, motels, apartments and B&Bs.

I think Boston is a great town if you're into American history, seafood, architecture (from a wide range of periods), or modern nightlife. It's got what I consider very nice public transportation. It has extremely expensive real-estate (probably not a problem for visitors), but prices for everyday goods and services didn't seem high to folks from near Chicago. My wife and I could easily have two weeks instead of one and had plenty to keep ourselves interested and entertained.

Got a late start due to lack of heat and no hot water for shower but did get to the Fine Arts Museum which while large in size displays the art in intimate settings. Staff very helpful.
Suggest booking rooms far in advance to avoid outrageous hotel prices.

The Verb Hotel is truly one of the greatest and fun loving experiences I've ever experienced. The staffs professional, patience, caring and welcoming skills are beyond believe. They make each person feel special. The assistant manager was especially attentive and kind to me (and othets) which I also observed. The Verb Hotel is a hidden charm. Glad I discovered it. I
Will ALWAYS be a faithful customer.
The staff at the property were extremely friendly, helpful and couldn’t have been more accommodating. We arrived in the am of our check in day and were greeted by the most lovely young lady at reception. As we were there too early to check in, she stored our luggage and directed us to the coffee and tea station, restrooms and seating area on site. She also provided us with a city map and went above and beyond with explaining local cafe locations. This was the best welcome to a hotel that we experienced in our entire 5 week stay in the USA.
There's a shuttle bus that runs every 40 mins from hotel.to the airport it takes around 15 mins, and there's also a car rental drop off and you can get the bus from the airport to downtown Boston. The room was spotless had a hairdryer coffee machine and the beds were very comfy they also store your luggage without charge and there was a pretty decent selection at breakfast. There are restaurants/ diners across the street, which probably takes about 15 mins to get to and the locals were very friendly.
This is the third time I have stayed at the Lenox Hotel in the last 10 years when visiting Boston and the primary reason is its location. For me the best part of Boston is the Back Bay Area and no hotel is better place to experience this. A short walk and you can experience dining and shopping of good quality in the nicest part of Boston. The hotel staff are always helpful and there is a feeling that nothing is too much trouble.
Huge room with great bathroom. Views of Constitution shipyard. Water ferry straight from airport to hotel was a beautiful introduction to North End. Hotel was so clean and the room was spotless every day. Fabulous location, easy access to Boston within walking distance to everything. Staff excellent and efficient.
