The city of Istanbul offers a trip unlike any other, encompassing Asian and European cultures to create a heady mix of art, music and food. Istanbul is always a wonderful place to visit for its rich history, but this time I was shocked by the high prices. They’ve nearly doubled since my last visit two years ago, and I couldn't find a good reason for it. The same meals that were once affordable are now twice as expensive!

I don't know if there are any other cities in the world like Istanbul. It's such an old city that's wound its way through history in such a novel way while straddling two continents. Even so, the mix of antiquity and the conveniences of the modern day doesn't feel forced or out of place. Walking past a 1500 year old mosque to get a Coke from a street stall just seems right but you have to experience it for yourself. Indulge in the raucous hustle culture of the bazaars before finding a quiet meal or cup of tea. Take the easy, cheap public transportation to see how the people of the city live, work and enjoy life. I never met an unhappy face in Istanbul and everyone was kind, welcoming and warm.

Istanbul is huge and the best way to get a sense of its size is to take a boat along the Bosphorus. Despite its size, it's easy to get round thanks to its great public transport options, which are as reliable as it comes. You should still be up for a lot of walking though, because there is so much to see here. Personal highlights...besides the boat trip...well, other boat trips and the street life around Kadikoy. Things like the Blue Mosque etc. are all very nice, but you have to time your moments right if you want to avoid mass amounts of tourists. A safe, clean, and enjoyable city.

Transport from the Sultanahmet area was easy with the travel card, available at machines at tram stops. Istanbul was fascinating city. People were friendly and there was always something interesting to see. The historic sites were well maintained. I enjoyed the Blue Mosque, Topkapi palace and Naval Museum. A 3-hour boat tour of the Bosphorus was enjoyable.

Good food and people, be carefull of taxi drivers and either force them to use the meter or use uber, else you get scammed.
The hecklers trying to get you inside every restaurant are annoying and the food is getting expensive (might be because i was located near a tourist area.)
The boat tours are nice, just again don't buy anything they offer cause its a scam.
First of all, the location of the hotel is very good, it is close to Taksim Square, from which public transport runs in any direction, including buses from both Gokcen and Istanbul airports. The room is quite big and clean. The only inconvenience was that we didn't have a closet. the staff was very attentive and pleasant. Thank them for that. The street where the hotel is located is full of very good cafes with live music until the morning, so we didn't have to look far for entertainment.
Location was perfect with stunning view over the Bosphorus. It was located super close to any major area with Istanbul best sites to view. Ferry and bus stops right next to hotel. One bus away from the airport. And area filled with shops, bars, restaurant and available very late in the evenings. Located next to busy road but once the balcony doors closed you can’t hear much of busy Istanbul outside.
A real 5 star experience. All the staff went above and beyond to make the stay feel extra special and cater to your needs. It's really lovely to see how much they enjoy running a hotel and meeting the guests. Top quality breakfast with little changes every day. The views from the terrace room are phenomenal: one of the best views you'll get anywhere in Istanbul.
EXCELLENT BOUTIQUE HOTEL IN CENTRAL ISTANBUL
- Professional team offering 5 stars services.
- Good situation of the hotel in the vicinity of Taksim square which is the heart of the business and leisure quarter in Istanbul.Although it is very quiet.
- Excellent breakfast : generous and varied.
I am very glad that I chose Cezayir Rooms for my first visit to Istanbul. Excellent hotel at the best location. Near to Istiklal, Galata Port, Galata Tower, Taksim Square. Near to the trams going to Sultan Ahmet. Near to Karakoy Ferry Station.
