The city of Istanbul offers a trip unlike any other, encompassing Asian and European cultures to create a heady mix of art, music and food. The amazing Old Town and the Sultanahmet are home to iconic Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. More history is hidden in the Topkapi Palace, where you can glimpse the splendour and opulence of Turkey’s Ottoman heritage.
Take a stroll through the historic centre or the bustling Taksim Square before watching the sun set behind countless mosques and minarets. Local fish markets and numerous restaurants lining the bridge to Galata offer the Golden Horn’s daily catch.
If you prefer the fine art of bargaining to fine art, lose yourself in the Grand Bazar and maybe you’ll emerge with a hookah, some Turkish coffee, or even a carpet. The Spice Bazar further immerses you in the sights, smells, and tastes of Turkish culture.

Maybe I like big cities with lots of people and I feel comfortable in Istanbul. The feeling of safety. The number of buildings is impressive. The people are friendly. You can eat in different places and it will be delicious everywhere. Good selection of clothes and shoes. People are poorly dressed, but there are almost no beggars on the streets. If there is a shop with good clothes and European prices, it is empty. Often, because of the traffic, it is faster to use public transport than a taxi.

Istanbul is an endlessly fascinating city.
Istanbul is an endlessly fascinating city. It opens a new face to you in every neighborhood, with every sight, with a change of seasons and moods. Truly, Istanbul is a city to which one could return to all your life. Two recommendations: (1) no trip to Istanbul is complete without seeing it from water, and municipal boats and sea buses provide an excellent and affordable opportunity to do that; (2) go beyond traditional tourist sites to explore Istanbul's many charming neighborhoods like Balat/Fener, Kadıköy/Moda and Üsküdar.

This massive city with massive history is a civilisation in itself. You can be humbled by magnificient mosques, fall in love with a million of extremely photogenic cats, wonder up and down the hilly streets or walk with the crowds in the Great Bazaar. You can travel between different bits of town by boat in a brilliant sunshine across blue waters of Bosphorus for less than a euro. You can drink strong tea or watch how traditional coffee is made or chill in a wine bar with many decent Turkish wines. You will never be hungry and it's guaranteed that you will see many food you've never seen or tasted before. I like to stay in the hilly bit of town over the Western shore of Bosphorus, the more museum-y and touristy bits of Sultanahmet can be overloaded with people.

I knew that I would would need more time, My ultimate destination was visiting friends in Ankara. But I could not resist. One would need a week to do the slightest justice. This is an epicenter of History and culture especially in Western cultures, and its role in joining east and west. Give yourself at least 5 to 7 days. The easy ones are the sultanameht/Blue mosque, hayah Sofia, Topkapi, hidden garden, Bosphorus views, spice markets and bazaars. Hannibal is buried in Gebze! of all places! Eat at Rumi's Cafe very nearby. Walk, use the trams, and the Metro with ease.

Generally, it is worth visiting from a historical perspective. Tickets for some historical sites are very expensive. The city itself is full of very pushy sellers who offer cheap copies of famous brands.

I liked Istanbul overall, but there are some downsides.
I liked Istanbul overall, but there are some downsides. The vendors are very pushy, and you have to be cautious to avoid being scammed. Prices are often overpriced, especially in touristy areas.
The Asian side of the city is much calmer and more pleasant, and I had the best experience there. Despite the drawbacks, the city is worth visiting for its atmosphere and interesting places.I liked Istanbul overall, but there are some downsides. Everything was perfect, our stay at the element garden was one of the best things in our trip , the location is awesome in a calm street few minutes walk from Taksim square , rooms very clean with the necessary equipment we even cooked there and could eat in the hotel’s garden , the staff were extremely nice and helpful especially Ella who was preparing very good breakfasts and was extremely nice , I recommend this hotel for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Istanbul
Amazing view from the window. Possibly the best in Istanbul. Enough spacious room for two. Comfortable bed. Friendly and helpful staff who will always help with any questions. Delicious breakfast, but although you can make it more varied. The hotel is located in the downtown. All sights can be reached on foot. Galata bridge under the window. 10 minutes to the Galata Tower. 5 minutes to Galataport. 20 minutes to Sultanahmet.
I chose the hotel mainly for the location, close to the Taksim bus stop for the airport bus (I was basically transiting through Istanbul). It’s in a grid of streets with plenty of hotels, restaurants and cafes, and right beside Taksim Square itself. The hotel is fine, fairly small, with clean modern rooms and a good lift. Very convenient and straightforward.
Rrally was good hotel near airport very clean room was clean amele was perfect personel was great Wi-Fi was work fast the best option near İstanbul airport
