The property was in a convenient location, and for the price this was a very good stay.
The bed was comfortable, we got water each morning, and the pool was clean and nice to sit by, though there weren’t a ton of seats in the sun.
The staff were all incredibly friendly, the mini-breakfast was mini, but had exactly what we needed to get started for the day (fruit, yogurt, toast, coffee& tea).
In a prime location in the center of Chiang Mai, POR Thapae Gate provides air-conditioned rooms, free bikes, free WiFi and an outdoor swimming pool.

Despite the great reviews, I was a bit dubious given the star rating (we were between staying here and the Intercontinental). I shouldn't have - this hotel experience was even better than the rave reviews could prepare us for, and we were sad to leave. The deluxe double with bath was plenty big enough for our two suitcases to remain open when necessary. The food and amentities are as great as everyone says. The highlight for me was the POOL which was beautifully maintained, the perfect temperature, and got a mixture of sun and shade throughout the day. Even though the hotel was very busy and full and boutique size, it never felt too crowded. Location is perfect!

Surrounded by Thailand’s highest mountains, Chiang Mai is the beloved, idyllic and somewhat mystical capital of the North. With more than 300 temples, it's considered one of the most important cultural centers in the country.
Despite being Thailand's fifth-largest city, Chiang Mai still has a relaxed and laid-back feel. Modernity, trendy shops and boutique hotels haven’t altered much of its picturesque and peaceful atmosphere.
This reputation is partly due to its proximity to lush green areas, mountains like Doi Suthep, and its panoramic Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep temple. The Doi Inthanon National Park is 37 miles away with Thailand’s highest mountain.
Hotels in Chiang Mai’s old city center are a popular choice, with picturesque scenery featuring its moat and older temples. Chiang Mai hotels can also be found around the Chang Klhan Rd, where the famous Night Bazaar takes place.
The city’s nightlife runs along the Loi Kroh Rd, while Ratchadamneon Road hosts the main Sunday night pedestrian market. Don’t forget to buy an umbrella from Bo Sang and eat a bowl of kao soi.
Whether you arrive at Chiang Mai International Airport or come by land from Bangkok, don’t miss "The Rose of the North" deals on Booking.com!

Chiang Mai is a nice little place to go to where everything is more calm and relaxed.
It's a nice inexpensive getaway if you are spending a lot of time in places like Pattaya or Bangkok.
The surrounding temples are a must see. But beware of the many tourists.
The night safari was fun, but a little expensive. The Zoo was a great place for a walk, would be nice with some more animals.
The sharks in the Zoo were a disappointment. They were quite small and didn't reflect what they mentioned in their marketing.
Using services like Bolt and Grab makes it quite easy to get around town cheap.
On average Chiang Mai is less expensive compared to Pattaya and Bangkok

Beautiful city to visit, not a place to spend more than a few days. Lots and lots of beautiful temples, many places to go for a hike (the walk to Wat Pha Lat is a great day to spend the day). The town is very touristy, and lacks the vibrancy of Bangkok, Pattaya, or Phuket. The tourist areas are too contained and self-referential, the vibe is "we are all visitors passing through" instead of being in a cosmopolitan city.
The Old City is very easy to get around on foot, and there are a couple of cool museums (the Treasury Museum is a great place to learn about the Lanna and the history of the region's economics, see the evolution of coins and paper money in Lanna and later in Thailand). The temples in the Old City are all worth stopping by. Bring a good camera and be ready to walk a lot.
Chiang Mai is on my list of Must See places to visit once, make lots of great memories, then move on to more interesting and engaging locations.

Great exquisite food. Creative community aquarium worth going too. Lots of belief in community building
Covid hit hard. They are still rebuilding. Lovely heart people
Temples are worthy of course. I purposely went in non tourist time. It was great. Be prepared for him nudity so take hydrolight electolite Especially for sweating. And if possible a car and driver. Plenty of tours ,even in off tourist. We went Grab app a lot and tuktuks as well.
Great space to look at the triangle. It’s is a big day.
Markets so so some tribal materials but limited. Great place.
Amazing property which features an amazing room in a great location within walking distance to most places in the Old City.
The hotel manager Kishore is incredible and helped point us towards all the best places for coffee, motorbike rental, and street food. He was very kind and helpful for everything that was needed and went above and beyond to ensure we had all the information needed. All the staff at Lee Chiang Hotel were also amazing and friendly and hotel service was incredible.
Lovely little boutique hotel just outside of the Old City of Chiangmai. Location is cracking and the little pool was a nice bonus, as were the gym facilities. Kind and helpful staff, plus a terrific breakfast which was the best that my fiance and I had had in Thailand.
Spacious condo in easy reach of the old city and markets by bike or 60 baht taxi journey
2 bedrooms, 2 showers 1 bathtub and a living room with kitchen for half the price of a typical hotel room.
Pool and small but functional fitness room with ac.
Exceptional boutique hotel - built in Thai colonial style with a beautiful courtyard pool. Tucked away in a quiet spot but a short tuk tuk to the old city and night markets.
