In the Vrem Valley, there is a stone house, which is part of a 300-year-old homestead and offers you peace and comfort of the Karst landscape.
Aparatma Lavanda is located in the Škocjan caves park, which are a UNESCO heritage site worth visiting. Just 200 m from the accommodation, you can cool off in the Karst river Reka. Along the forest paths, you climb high above the river Reka to the ruins of Školj Castle, which was first mentioned in written sources in 1426, when the owner of the castle was the knight Erhardus von Scolcum. By bike (15 km) you can go to Lipica, the cradle of white horses, and visit the stud farm. Hikers can visit Vremščica, a mountain range that stretches between Senožeči, Pivka and Divača. The highest peak of the mountain range is Velika Vremščica. The view from the top extends from the Dolomites, the Julian Alps, via Nanos to the Kamniško Savinja Alps and via Javorniki, Snežnik and Slavnik to the Adriatic Sea. Only 30 km away, you can admire Lake Cerknica, a world landmark and the largest intermittent lake in Europe, as well as the human fish in Postojna Cave, which is the only Karst cave with a cave railway, which was built more than 140 years ago. You can drive to Slovenia's capital, Ljubljana, or Croatia's Opatija (45 minutes), 30 minutes away you can enjoy exploring the Slovenian coast (Koper, Izola, Strunjan, Piran, Portorož, Ankaran) or have a drink at Piazza Unità d'Italia in Trieste and continue to the beautiful Miramare Castle, which is one of Italy's national museums, granted special autonomy by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage in 2016. Just 10 km further you can explore Portopiccolo Sistiana or visit Devin Castle (Castello di Duino in Italian), a castle located in the Slovenian border town of Devin in Italy. End the day in the beautiful seaside town of Grado, which will appeal to all lovers of the sea, sun, good food and beautiful walking paths, or in the tourist town of Lignano Sabbiadoro and enjoy the sun and the sea. Trieste Airport is 60 km from the accommodation, Jože Pučnik Airport 100 km away, and Venezia Airport is only 200 km away.
