Molendini is a 17th Century House, built when the island was ruled by The Knights of St John. The house enjoys original features such as mill room, built in traditional locally cut stone, with all the modern comforts. It is located in the quiet hamlet of Birbuba in the village of Gharb. This property is set on approx 400m2 of land with country views and tal-Jordan light house off in the distance. It is ideally located for country walks, walks to cliffs & sea views, and to Wied il-Mielah.
Molendini is just inside a large gated entrance. Upon entering through an arched corridor one comes to a bright courtyard. From here one can find a very large bedroom converted from a mill room, having original features. A further double bedroom with original features is also found at this level. Leaving the courtyard, one can move on to the large outdoor area, having a large pool with sun lounging area, external shower, BBQ area and dining amenities. Up the stairs from the courtyard, one finds an arched living room and dining room, decorated reflecting the history of the property. Through a door in the room is a terrace overlooking the pool area with far reaching country views, perfect to watch the sunrise. Adjacent to this room is a traditional Gozo kitchen, enjoying all modern comforts including dishwasher and microwave. At this level one also finds a further large master bedroom, having high ceilings, and traditional original features such as birthing room. All bedrooms are en suite, with the upper bedroom having a full corner bath. Being an historic property, built traditionally, the walls are approximately 1m thick. This keeps the property warm in Winter and fresh in Summer.
In the vicinity (3 minute drive), you can find a grocery store, a number of restaurants, village church and museum. Just outside the property is a small play area with swings and slide for children to enjoy. It is 3km from a rocky beach and 7km from a sandy beach. Public bus stop is just 600m away. Places close by to visit include Ta'Pinu Shrine, San Lawrenz and inland sea at Dwejra, and the window at Wied il-Mielah.
