FAQs about hotels in Tokyo

See It to Believe It!

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!

Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Centre near the waterfront, and savour the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.

Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.

For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Markets in the grounds sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.

Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

Too many tourists in Tokyo City not understanding it is the business district. Visiting Sumo training was a highlight. Klook is a must have booking app. Plan your mobile phone SIM card change early. Sitting and watching is sometimes a great experience to understand.

Tokyo is a very organized, clean city with so many commuters rushing to their destinations but willing to stop and help when required. Japanese people are very polite and disciplined. The food is great but very different from how we eat the rice and vegetables and fish and meat. I had carried clean shoes from India, they returned that way. The only problem I faced was the language. In many shops and places there were no instructions or directions in English , and the products could not be identified.

Beautiful city but I would have spent less time in the city and more time in the rural areas. It was very hot - summer on our visit but we had to check our son out of the dorm so we had to go at this time- do not visit in the summer it is searing hot and if you do carry an umbrella, a neck fan and a handkerchief as you will be perspiring like never before !!

The room has lots of amenities. It has a sauna, jacuzzi and even karaoke. Lots of interesting facial and skin product samples. Very near the metro ( Higashi Shinjuku). I took the skyliner and Oedo line from Narita to the hotel ( took 1.5hours ). I flew back from Haneda. Left the hotel at 2.15pm. Took the metro (Oedo line and Asakusa line) to Haneda airport. Was in the lounge by 3.45pm. The staff were very kind and attentive. They have English speaking staff and were quick to respond to my requests.

The location was excellent - right out the front of the train station. It takes about 20 minutes by train to get into the central area of Tokyo e.g. Shibuya, Shinjuku area. There is good shopping and food options around the hotel. The bed was comfy, the room is modern and the hotel is a nice design. I enjoyed the onsen and liked that there was both an indoor and open-air one. There is a FamilyMart attached to the hotel which is great for snacks and cheap breakfast options.

Location was amazing! 30 minute walk from either Shinjuku or Shibuya, 10 minutes away from the national gardens, right next to the baseball stadium and 15 minutes for Meiji Shrine. It was also right next to a station. You also get views of mount Fuji on a clear day from the roof terrace which was a wonderful bonus. Such great value for money in comparison to other hotel prices in Tokyo.

I told the hotel that it was my husband's birthday and they put a handwritten birthday card in the room, which we found really nice. The location is great, just few steps away from the driverless Yurikamome station and another station that is Shinjuku/Shibuya line. We also used the massage chair in the room a lot until our backs were tender 😆 it was worth it. AMAZING VIEW from our window.

Close to the Marunouchi line and just a few minutes away from Shinjuku and Shibuya, the location of the hotel is great. You can reach other districts like Asakusa and Akihabara and the central station quickly as well with just single transfers. If you intend to visit Hakone, you can take the limited express romance car from the Shinjuku station.
