Everything was beautiful…the rooms, the setting, the lobby area, the breakfast room and garden. It close to the town center. But the thing that made it the BEST was the STAFF. They were so helpful and they arranged everything from dinner reservations to boat taxis, to getting an umbrella arranged for our beach day. They were amazing!

I really enjoyed Hydra and would have stayed longer if I had the flexibility. It evokes Greece. No cars, super nice. Beaches a short distance from town via water taxi. Safe and lively at the same time.

Hydra is an easy ferry ride from Athens and is a very pretty location for a few days stay . The waterfront is lively with souvenir shops and restaurants but when you go a short way back it is residential. There are no cars. Sailing boats are coming and going. It's very pleasant to wander the back streets - houses are painted white with differently coloured doors and window shutters, the numerous cats are friendly and there ar interesting little restaurants to be discovered. There is lots of brightly coloured bougainvillea and green vegetation for shade. For those who like to walk there are many options.

You have to see Hydra! It is such a cosy, yet lively island. No cars, just donkeys delivering the goods. Nice people and wonderful houses, restaurants and bars. We strongly recommend a horse back riding with Harriet's Hydra Horses. It is a great event!

There may not be a lot of "big ticket" destinations on the island, but this was perfect for a relaxing, rejuvenating trip. Everything you want is walking distance from the port - beautiful cliffside beaches, warm water swimming spots, excellent restaurants and cafes, breathtaking views, hiking paths, and more.

Hydra is the perfect island to stop and breathe.
Hydra is the perfect island to stop and breathe. The people are lovely, food excellent and the beaches and coves just stunning. The lack of cars really does impact. It’s definitely now my favourite Greek island. I ate twice at the recommended taverna Kryfo Limani. Great prices for great local food. Visited the tranquil Bisti beach for a day €15 return and €10 euro for the bead and umbrella.

DONT BOOK THERE.
DONT BOOK THERE. There is a bar just underneath the hotel and they are playing loud music from 23 to 06 o’clock every day from may to November. We couldn’t get any sleep due to this and we had to foreshorten our stay but we didn’t get any refund despite completely lacking the service we paid for. Besides Hydra is overpriced overrated and overcrowded and it’s not worth to spend so much money to see. There is no service or anything else and the Greeks are so greedy. They also want 35 eur for carrying your luggage 100 m …
The coolest, boutique style hotel ever. HUGE rooms, so modern and spacious. The owner was so friendly, helpful and chilled. They even had a help yourself fridge full of wine and just trusted you to
let them know which one you picked to pay at the end. Incredible roof top sitting area with 360 views of the port and mountains. A gorgeous, resident cat chilled in the lobby and was happy to give cuddles. So picturesque and a great location, walking distance to delicious restaurants. So happy we stayed here!
This is my second time in Mistral Hotel in 3 years and I would certainly return next time I am in Hydra. I just love that hotel, the tasteful arrangements by the management, the different breakfts menu served personally by the owner every morning, the quiet and convenient location. This is probably among the very best value for money accommodations I have ever been at anywhere. Strongly recommend!
Historic and beautiful hotel, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the decor is traditional and beautiful. We arrived at the hotel before check-in time, but they prepared a room for us. Breakfast in the beautiful courtyard was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a wonderful stay at Hydra, thank you for everything.
Lovely boutique hotel with amazing terrace on the port of Hydra! Julietta was an amazing receptionist in helping us sort out some unexpected changes and her colleague at breakfast (sorry forgot her name) was so friendly, that these 2 ladies made the extra plus for our stay !
Ippokampos is a charming hotel with a vintage feel. The rooms were very comfortable and so were the beds. And as Hydra is a steep hillside little island, coming off the ferry and getting to the hotel was a short flat walk, not far at all. We loved our stay there. :)
