I havent visited for a while and the town has changed beyond recognition and not in a good way. The tatty areas are still tatty and a lot of new, soulless development has been plonked into the town. The new road system is incomprehensible. Any good things to look at are hard to find. I never want to go back! Even the Great Central Railway is hidden in a grimy back street, with no parking. Go to the Quorn station instead - lots of parking and 2 cafes.

The apartment was awful, dirty, the shower didn’t work, brown across the ceiling, food up the walls and the toilet must have been leaking as urine and water was coming through the toilet when you stood on the floor boards.

Typical student town, with many young people in evidence.
Typical student town, with many young people in evidence. Safe, friendly feel to the town, even in the evening at the weekend. Lots of variety in the restaurants and cafés, good shopping with some very good independent shops, as well as the usual chains.

The hotel is very clean, and the staff is very kind. The location is good, it's in a quiet place and has a pub next to it (~2min walking), although it's not so great if you do not have a car or a bicycle which was our case, it was our first time at Loughborough so we didn't know that there are no buses on Sunday (only hourly and until 7pm I think) so it was difficult to move around the city being so far from the city centre (thinking we would have to walk).
Friendly staff, quick to show to room.
You have to go out of pub and it was a separate room direct onto street. Location to City Centre and Great Central Railway (purpose of visit to Loughborough) is great (Town 10-15 mins, GCR <5 mins)
Room very clean, tidy, comfy bed (except for thin duvet, see below) and there was tea and coffee.
I liked how the hotel was in the facility of the university. The staff was very polite and helpful and went over beyond expectations. The leisure centre inside the facility was really relaxing and modern
It was a useful location for Loughborough University. Clean and functional room. Thought all the screaming and joyful shouting at 3 in the morning, amusing.
