Property information
Situated in the village of Alrewas, the George and Dragon pub is within a 30 minute drive of Birmingham City Centre and Airport, Alton Towers Theme Park and the NEC. In addition to free wi-fi and parking, we offer a wide and well maintained selection of ales, lagers, wines and spirits as well as a comforting 'pub grub' menu. We have three double bedrooms with hand basin available. The loo and shower are shared between the three rooms. Breakfast is available upon request, subject to availability - please speak to Nick or a member of staff when booking in
Neighbourhood information
Alrewas is a picturesque village and civil parish in the Lichfield district of Staffordshire. Whose tongue twisting name is derived from Alder Wash which was a swamp of alder trees which flew in the flood plains of the nearby River Trent. The village currently has a community of approximately 3,000 residents. Main Street (where we are situated) is lined with half-timbered cottages, crowned pretty thatched roofs, and much of the village is a conservation area. We won the Best Kept Village Award in 2004.
Alrewas has plenty of interesting days out and attractions nearby.
The National Arboretum (just a mile outside the village) is a living memorial to all those who have died in warfare since WW2 - an interesting and thought provoking place to visit.
The Cathedral city of Lichfield is just a short drive away and provides a pleasant shopping centre and old streets, particularly around the magnificent three spired Cathedral
