Lorraine & Paul would like to welcome you to Black Barn Filby where we live in the main house. We have three grown up children and three grandchildren who live nearby. Our family also enjoy using the pool, hot tub and sauna when it is not booked by guests. We purchased the land and the pig shed in 2016 with the aim of fulfilling our dream which, was to design and build our own home.

We were attracted to the openness of the area, the beautiful surrounding fields and walks which allows us to enjoy the lovely country side. We started by demolishing all the buildings down to the foundations thus allowing us to reinvent the space ready for our new home. We wouldn’t say living in a caravan while building works were taking place was a highlight but, it definitely created some fond memories. It was really exciting to watch our home being built from the foundations to the roof. Here at Black Barns we our ecologically conscious so the building is A+++ energy rated. We generate our heat from the ground via source pumps and three phase solar panels. We also use natural water from our well to water the garden. At last. All the building works have been finished and all of the exciting interior has been completed. The garden is now growing into a lovely green paradise to house our spa facilities.
