Hello. I have no idea of how I ended up doing what I do, none of it has been planned. We bought Maison De L'Orb in 2007. Even then we had no real idea of what we were going to "do" in France, until we saw the house. Then it kind of all fitted into place. Despite not being a hotel or your typical guest house, we do offer the three essential Bs. A good bed, a good bathroom and a good breakfast. In 2015 we opened a new addition to the building, Jardin De L'Orb, our very own private bar and kitchen. We have guest areas with books to relax with, art on the walls, one very sociable dog, two cats and a garden of fruit trees. We are open most of the year so ideal for those who fancy a spring or autumnal getaway when out of season. The bedrooms have all been individually designed with good decor and all have been refurnished during 2019 and 2020. Aside from Maison De L'Orb, you may have read some of my novels. Yes. Property info

WE ARE NOT A HOTEL. WE HAVE NO PRIVATE PARKING. Lets get those facts in first. We are a private house situated on the river opposite Pont Vieux downhill, approx 10mins from the main centre ville of Beziers. All double bedrooms, some with great views, all different sizes but all with small bathrooms. We offer a lovely breakfast, a jungle garden, a great bar and entertaining space and friendly service. We don't have air-con (fans only), we don't have concierge and we don't accommodate children, BUT what we do have we do well and we do enjoy our guests. Take a peek at our social media for on the spot guest book reviews and more. Please note as our bedrooms are on the second floor and we are downhill from centre ville people with mobility issues may find staying somewhere else more beneficial for their needs. For cyclists we can store your bikes overnight inside. Please let us know so we know how many to accommodate. We do allow dogs to stay PLEASE ASK FIRST but due to size of bedrooms, small well behaved dogs only, there is an extra fee. We do request that you tell us beforehand so we can say yes or no. We do have one dog and two cats in residence.

Neighborhood info

We are situated by the river just 10minutes uphill/downhill from the main part of town. Free off street parking is on nearby streets and avenues, sometimes close by but never guaranteed. There are two small car parks just up the road. Generally the area is quieter than in the centre but as Beziers is a city one expects the sounds of a city. If its birdsong and bees humming you require and not the odd train whistle (we are 10min walk from railway station), ducks quaking on the river or a neighbour talking loudly from time to time, stay elsewhere. Or just don't stay in a city. We are situated opposite Pont Vieux, the oldest bridge in Beziers with the Canal Du Midi minutes away. Uphill to the cathedral, bars and restaurants although during peak summer months there are a few outdoor venues open near to us.
