Use the hop on hop off bus and take the tour for 48 hours that way you can explore the city at leisure and get to know the stops which can be accessed by foot!
Also use both routes which are separate for the tour showing different aspects

Easy and cheap to get around but lots of walking to get from one metro to another. Near Real Madrid stadium a must visit for us and on a day of an evening match no problems so many good restaurants nearby. Rodilla nearby for breakfast and brilliant choice of sandwiches.
We went to Escorial Monastery and then to Valley of the fallen, important history. Bus from Moncloa 661 then in the afternoon bus to the valley, only one bus a day 660A, 2 hours later bus returns for trip back to Escorial.
Toledo bus from Plaza Elíptica but very busy and commercialise .

a remarkable city that has much to showcase, every nook & cranny is worth exploring. Each neighbourhood more charming than the next. Riding the electric bikes (saves the feet) didn't metro at all (a cheaper option than bike) so was able to experience so much while riding around, feeling like a local.

Out of all the cities I visited in Spain, I'd rate Madrid at the top. It's a beautiful city with the most generous and kind people. The scenery is magnificent and the architecture is well preserved and something to behold. A public transport card will be your best friend here.
The hotel is located at the business district of Madrid, 5 minutes walking distance from Chamartin central train and subway station, very convenient not only to commute to the city centre but also to visit nearby cities. The room was spacious enough with nice furniture and quiet. The breakfast, althougt it costed 25€, was very satisfying offering a big variety. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The Hotel interior is modern and very carefully designed. All the staff were very polite and helpful during our staying. The sky bar and pool were also excellent and gave us the opportunity to cool down from the heat. The location is ideal as is walking distance to everything in the city centre, near Sol and Plaza Mayor. I will definitely return to the hotel when I am visiting Madrid again.
Really loved the short stay in Madrid in this hotel. The breakfast was really great, even with churros and other tasty and fresh food! The room was very clean, with beautiful interior and painting on the wall. The hotel is located in the city centre, easy to find, close to metro and bus stations, so it is very convenient.
The hotel was very close to our meeting location and not too far away from the city centre. The value for money was excellent. This was my second visit and I'll come back again next time I travel to Madrid.
