Luxor is a difficult mix to evaluate. On the one hand, it has incredible places with all the history and importance it deserves. On the other hand, the treatment of animals was what struck me the most, the state of the horses in the carriages was a discouragement to take this activity, the treatment of the locals to the tourists is not easy - the prices could be inflated between 4 and more times, additional and senseless costs come up all the time. It is a shame, because it is a place that would be worth returning to but the experience is so difficult that it becomes a destination to visit only once.

Luxor is definitely worth visiting. Full of amazing ancient Egyptian relics to visit. Between Karnak temple, Luxor temple, Valley of the Kings (get the extra ticket for tombs of Ramses V & VI), Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut and Colossi of Memnon, it's worth spending 2 days in the c.

You seem to have a lot of small denomination money, here it's all tips, if you ask a question to people on the street... TIP, if you drop a piece of paper on the ground and someone picks it up... TIP, if it comes in to the bathroom... TIP... a little annoying, they are used to asking for TIP for everything, everything is everything. The challenge is very exciting to see so much history, monuments, the trip in a static balloon is very good. Everything is excellent because of the architecture and the history, the people are respectful, the only thing that is uncomfortable is the issue of tips, if you are going to go to the market, it is best to go with the guide so that the prices are raised so exaggeratedly.

We spent excellent time during our stay at the Nile Castle. First of all view from the tarrace, where we were having breakfast was breathtaking. The hotel is located at the river just opposote Luxor temple. Our host and his family were very helpful and smiling. They prepared for us welcome tea, offered assistance with organisation of various trips and gave road traffic advices. The room was very clean. I will certailny recommend this place for my family and friends intending to travel to Egypt.
Honestly, the best value for money ever! Everyone here is very kind and honest. The hotel is right in downtown: market, train station and Luxor temples, all 5 min by foot.
Breakfast is simple but ver fresh and complete.
Staff is friendly, talkative and tbh feels like a relief if it is your first time in Egypt.
If you can, book tours with them, they have fair prices.
Hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was very polite and welcoming, the room was fully equipped, the view on the Nile was truly amazing. I also want to mention exceptional bathroom facilities. The rooms were really clean (not in an Egyptian way)
Cheap! And it's a hotel that did breakfast! The Egyptians couldn't do enough for you, which can become overbearing if you go for a walk. Don't give in and remind them you said No several times already and didn't get angry.
The hotel is close to the Luxor temple, very convinient for traveling. The room is clean but the hotel itself sometimes is with a bad smell. The breakfast is quite good with fresh fruit and some egyptian food.
