Established in 1939, the historic Blue Swallow Motel offers accommodation in Tucumcari with free WiFi throughout the property and free private parking available on site. For anyone wanting a true Route 66 experience, we recommend a night's stay at the Blue Swallow..the owners Rob and Dawn were excellent hosts, and the decor was so nostalgic.

Located in Cloudcroft, Cloudcroft Hostel provides accommodation with private balconies. Cloudcroft hostel is beautifully run with a lot of attention to detail. From the fresh towels and sheets on the comfortable beds and reading lamps by each bunk through the bathrooms which have body wash and moisturizing lotion to the spotless and pleasant kitchen everything there is done right to facilitate a communal experience. At the same time it was a fun space with retro album covers on the walls and good traveller conversations around the kitchen table. The location in the Sacramento mountains / Lincoln national forest east of Alamogordo is lovely (it snowed the night we were there) but it's a fair distance to the White Sands national park - about 45 minutes in a car - if that's your primary destination.
