Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi throughout the property. Cloudcroft hostel is beautifully run with a lot of attention to detail. From the fresh towels and sheets on the comfortable beds and reading lamps by each bunk through the bathrooms which have body wash and moisturizing lotion to the spotless and pleasant kitchen everything there is done right to facilitate a communal experience. At the same time it was a fun space with retro album covers on the walls and good traveller conversations around the kitchen table. The location in the Sacramento mountains / Lincoln national forest east of Alamogordo is lovely (it snowed the night we were there) but it's a fair distance to the White Sands national park - about 45 minutes in a car - if that's your primary destination.

Great location overlooking the Cumbres and Toltec railway. Perfect for those wanting to ride the railway. Must be the best accommodation in Chama.
good cheap stay in Alamogordo! we just needed a place to crash for the night and to drive to White Sands, and it was perfect for that. right on the main street, so it was a super short drive (or even a walk) to any fast food restaurant you've ever heard of.
Beautiful facility with a really nice recently renovated hot tub/ spa area. Great location - next to the Botanic Gardens and the Zoo and within walking distance of the old town area. We loved the casitas with all the traditional decor!
We slept in and enjoyed the breakfast. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was right next to the interstate, but had no idea! So quiet! And it was easy to get to. In this part of the SW it is hard to find a hotel that is nice and not super expensive. And the cheap ones are sooo cheap-- this one was just right. We felt safe and secure.
A real hidden gem in the mountain! The location is amazing if you are interested in hiking, with a lot of nice trails in close proximity and white sands national park less than an hour away. The hostel is really beautiful, warm and charming, with really nice and clean common areas. The owner is welcoming, helpful and knows the area like her pocket. The beds are comfy and the room was really nice. Hands down one of the very best hostel I've stayed in!
great location! The bed was amazing - so comfortable it was like sleeping in a marshmallow! The room was spacious but there was no safe for valuables.
The price is appropriate for the accommodations. I was able to park right outside the room. The room reminded me of youth hostels.
Lovely little individual Spanish style cottages, beautifully equipped. Great location within 5 - 10 minutes of the centre on foot, and it felt quite safe walking about.
