Featuring a garden, Sweet Swell in Porto is situated less than 1 km from Oporto Coliseum. A very nice spot in Porto. The backyard is a good place to read or to enjoy your breakfast in the morning... Bunk beds and bathroom were well equipped.
Vila Nova de Gaia
This unique and comfortable boutique property comes with double rooms and dormitories, all featuring views, with some even having views of Porto and the river. Some units include a private bathroom while other have access to shared bathroom facilities. Free toiletries and towels are provided for every guest. There is a 24-hour front desk. Room itself is absolutely beautiful and worth it. Helpful staff, but be ready for lots of steps to get to reception with your bags on arrival (common in older buildings here). No big problems with noise; note that the nice outdoor bar below closes early (9:30) to achieve this. Good breakfast (with custom preorders for suites), lattes, and welcoming portonic. Loved the balcony and watching the sunset. Just a peak Porto experience on my third try visiting the city. Hope to return.

Great location near the Camino - my room was spacious, with a private bathroom, and a little side balcony where I could view the ocean. After several stays in hostels with bunk beds, this was a welcome change!
This is the best hostel i have been to. And i have done two interrail trips around Europe, probably visiting at least 30+ hostels. The location is wonderful, everybody in the staff is super nice, they have all the things you need at a good backpacker hostel, great breakfast and great dinners at affordable prices.
The beds were comfy and bathrooms were really good, great facilities and very clean. It was also quiet so you could get a good night's sleep, seemed to be mainly an older crowd, people doing the Camino de Santiago rather than party, so that was a plus for me. All in all, great value for money, one of the best hostels I've stayed in for the budget range.
Spacious and clean, lovely common areas. i booked a bed in the 4 bed female dormitory and enjoyed the space in the room to bunk bed ratio. Bathrooms were clean and had hairdryers. This is a lovely hostel for people doing the Camino.
One of the best hostels in Porto! Comfiest beds with curtains and you didn’t even feel the 10 people in the room because of the layout. Probably not best for solo travellers as meeting people is a bit difficult. The bathrooms were clean! The best thing was the slot machine downstairs for playing games and the live music at the bar! Best hostel we have stayed in. Central garden & seating area was great particularly when we had a small room it made all the difference. Bedding changed everyday was excellent. Location was fantastic. Reception staff were v polite and helpful but perhaps improved training, didn't go out of their way to find out answers when didn't have info to hand. A welcome drink in price would have been nice. Not the cheapest hostel. We would come back.
Definitely it's one of the best hostel where I've been! You can feel there like at home. Super positive and helpful owner, beautiful and clean building, great location. I would like to come there again :)
Bunks were comfortable, private, easy to store items and had charging ports within the bunks. We never had to wait for a shower/toilet to be free as there was always enough. The hostel felt secure and safe with lockers with electronic locks to store personal items. Rooftop bar was incredible! Cheap drinks and live dj music was so much fun. Breakfast included was a nice addition to assist with saving for more important travel experiences.
Great location within easy reach of the main attractions and parks. Beautiful restaurant and plentiful breakfast options. Nice rooftop terrace. Pretty decor and facilities. By far the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Fantastic staff who were very friendly and attentive, especially Laura. Really appreciated the early check-in. Overall a great experience. Would highly recommend Gallery Hostel for a short stay in Porto.
A beautiful vintage house adapted to offer comfort, peace and relax to the hosts. Clean bathrooms, bedrooms with lots of space to guarantee privacy and safety. The functionary are absolutely friendly and kind. Did I pay a lot to have a level os service like. this? Well, 2 or 3 euros above the average price. Does it make a difference? Absolutely Yes. The best hostel i have stayed in Portugal for sure. The difference between paying low cost and paying cheap. Low cost hostel can also be a quality hostel. Congratulations.
