Whilst the hike around Huaraz are amazing they made my stay even more memorable with their hospitality.

Set in Huaraz, Krusty Hostel B&B features accommodation with free WiFi and a terrace. All units feature a private bathroom with bath and a fully equipped kitchen. Owner let me check in early at 730am after a night bus from Lima, and check out later at 9pm while waiting for my night bus :') large chain hostels will never let you do this without charging! Tours readily available, common kitchen is simple but has everything you need. Breakfast changes every 3days so that's great. No bunk beds in the dorms which is a plus cause who wants to climb after a day of hiking. Very hot showers as well. Good location from the square

She is knowledgeable about the region, is a great cook, is friendly and helpful. She also speaks very good English! The ambiance is really homely.

Host Erik is a fantastic person, went above and beyond to accommodate us. His whole family is very kind and generous. Breakfast was, for the first time in Central and South Americas, filling and good. Rooms were spacious and quiet. Good location and insanely good price value. Erik also offers a bunch of tours.

Extremely nice location at ~3800m, amazing views, you can start many hikes from there, Kolibris and sunset views. Good for passive acclimatization. The host is a Mountain guide and he was very attentive and had great suggestions for tours that he adapted to our fitness/acclimatization level. We were there in the wet season and had the whole place for ourselves and cooked all meals independently in the kitchen.

Everything was clean and new, nothing felt grotty and dirty like some hostels. Room was spacious and comfortable and outside space was very relaxing. Staff were friendly and accommodated our vegan diet for breakfast.

Also their mountain tours are ridiculously good value - 800 soles for 2 days for vallanaraju!!! Family run hostel - support them because they deserve it!
