Situated in San Cristóbal de Las Casas and with San Cristobal Cathedral reachable within 700 metres, La Abuelita Hostal features a garden, allergy-free rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a... Central location. 10-15 mins walk from the ADO bus station. Our private room was cosy, bathroom had good water pressure. No AC, but in San Cristobal's cool climate it is not needed. Great facilities in the hostel. Kitchen has everything you would need to cook a simple meal (oil, spices, etc.). There was ample purified water available in the kitchen too. The terrace was also very spacious and a great place to hang out if it isn't too hot or raining. Overall, the hostel had a quiet but warm atmosphere. (There's also pox tasting on Friday evenings!) WiFi also worked very well - one of the best at the hostels we've stayed in within Mexico thus far.

Set in San Cristóbal de Las Casas, Posada del Abuelito (Hostel) features a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property. The whole place is just so cute. You come inside and smell the Jasmin flowers. We arrived at 5 in the morning from the night bus and one of the ladies working there welcomed us very friendly. The several courtyards are wonderfully decorated and there are several places to sit - in the shade but also on terraces. The women in the kitchen are just amazingly warm people, greeting you with a smile and even preparing breakfast for you at 4 in the morning. The staff is incredibly helpful and tries to find a solution for everything - one of them walked with us around in the neighborhood to find an open lavanderia on a Sunday. We would definitely stay here again. The only thing I would recommend is to bring a hot water bottle as it can get cold at night - but this is just because I am a person that gets cold easily.

Situated in San Cristóbal de Las Casas and with San Cristobal Cathedral reachable within less than 1 km, Tierra Alta Hostal features a tour desk, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout the... really beautiful, spacious property that’s been in operation for a few months. not a super social hostel, more private and tranquil. perfect if you’re looking for a place to relax or work. very comfy bed, well equipped kitchen, nice hot shower, clean bathroom, lots of areas to lounge and relax, attentive staff. i would definitely stay here again when in san cris!

Martha is the most welcoming, loveliest host I’ve ever had <3. The space and rooms are beautiful, every single part of the interior is done with care and eye for detail. Lots of plants, lots of wood, it all creates a luxury feeling but at hostel prices. Can recommend everyone to stay here.

It's such a lovely, quiet place to land in San Christobal, Fernanado is so kind and offered me a ride to and from the city multiple times. THe dorm is only with one other person and the whole house was such a comfort for the few days i stayed there.
