Toyama
Guesthouse Iwase is set in Toyama, 2.2 km from Toyama-kō and 14 km from Toyama Family Park. Featuring a shared lounge, the 1-star hostel has air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi, each with a shared bathroom. Free parking is available when reserved in advance. We were happy to be walking distance to the beach on a hot day. The location is very accessible by transit. We loved how quiet the area was. The neighbours were very friendly - we ended up watching fireworks with both the host and the neighbours. There was an unexpected festival we came across (Minato), and it was an excellent, friendly experience. The host was very communicative and helpful.
Takaoka
All rooms in the hostel are fitted with a kettle. With a shared bathroom equipped with a bidet and a hairdryer, rooms at Travelers' house ROOTs also offer free WiFi. Guest rooms will provide guests with a fridge. Comfortable! Besides I got a thing that’s more than a stay thanks to the staff. We spent time for a nice chat.
Nanto
Located in Nanto, 31 km from Kanazawa Castle, Guesthouse Kazura provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a shared lounge. The property is around 31 km from Kenrokuen Garden, 31 km from Myoryuji - Ninja Temple and 32 km from Shirakawago. The accommodation features a shared kitchen and free WiFi throughout the property.

The room is clean, spacious and quite. The owner is hospitable and helpful. The location is quite convenient as it is close to exit/entrance of highway so that from here it is easy to visit places in either north Japan or the central mountainous areas. The guesthouse has a nice view with a lake park and a camping ground nearby. Perfect for traveling with pets.
Budget option for dormitory accomodation in Toyama - next to Tram stop accessible from Toyama Station.

This is the best hostel space I stayed at in Japan out of the 15 or so hostels I have stayed with. It’s so cozy, and the layout just makes so much sense, and you can find almost everything you need here. The owners are extremely friendly and passionate. There are also cats here. Wish I could stay for a few more days.

It was well equipped and had a nostalgic feel with vintage knick knacks! The property seemed to be a backpackers hostel back in the day, it was nice to see the little notes left by earlier travellers! The staff sends across a PDF document with lots of info and recommendations which is helpful - a tiny feedback to update it as it states that breakfast is provided (it is not).
A quick walk from the station, very safe and quiet area. The beds were much bigger than any hostel I’ve been in before (tall enough to stand up in!) and each had its own safe box and storage space. The facilities (kitchen, toilets, lounge areas) were clean and comfortable, and there were small towels that you could use for free or bigger ones for rent. As a bonus, there are CATS !! who are very friendly. The owners are nice people as well.
This hostel was one of the best hostel that I visited! Staff was super kind :) One of the happiest moment in Toyama city. I highly recommend this. (Trust me, I visited more than 30 countries and have lots of experiences of using hostels haha)
