All well known spots are nearby. Just rent a scooty and go for a day trip. Most famous french delicacies shop is also in walking distance. The hotel is very clean n well maintained. Staffs are friendly and very helpful,polite and humble.They can also help you to plan your itinerary. They can allow for early check-in and didn't charge extra money. I really enjoyed my stay in 26 La Porte :)

TLDR; If you are looking for a legit place with friendly staff, who would go above and beyond to make your stay beneficial, this is the place for you (not suitable for folks with an attitude/entitlement 😉) The room was worth it for the price we paid, beds were comfy and well-made, roommates were a friendly bunch. The bathroom was clean; it came equipped with a geyser (water heater). I feel obliged to put in an additional paragraph regarding the amazing manager and staff, Rahul was super friendly and helpful; helped me with recommendations on places to visit (and even personally took me to some of the places himself), was even kind enough to allow me to keep my luggage in the premises until late (I hade a late transport from Pondi). Also special mention goes to Salman (I hope I am remembering his name correctly 😅), was kind and helpful. I would definitely be visiting again next time I come to Pondicherry.
