The shared spaces are perfect to hang out and chat with other travellers. The hosts are able to arrange scooter hire to get around the area. I would highly recommend Unpack for a stay in Pondicherry.

TLDR; If you are looking for a legit place with friendly staff, who would go above and beyond to make your stay beneficial, this is the place for you (not suitable for folks with an attitude/entitlement 😉) The room was worth it for the price we paid, beds were comfy and well-made, roommates were a friendly bunch. The bathroom was clean; it came equipped with a geyser (water heater). I feel obliged to put in an additional paragraph regarding the amazing manager and staff, Rahul was super friendly and helpful; helped me with recommendations on places to visit (and even personally took me to some of the places himself), was even kind enough to allow me to keep my luggage in the premises until late (I hade a late transport from Pondi). Also special mention goes to Salman (I hope I am remembering his name correctly 😅), was kind and helpful. I would definitely be visiting again next time I come to Pondicherry.

Set in Puducherry, 3.5 km from Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Nomad House Pondicherry offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. A perfect stay for backpackers. The place is pretty much connected to all the main areas in Pondicherry and is very near to bus stand. Harish is a very good host and quite helpful. Dorms are neat and well maintained. The terrace is a meet up place for the guests to grab a drink play some nice games. I personally had a very good time interacting with strangers and will definitely stay again...
