Great location and a perfect size for a couple. The caretaker was lovley and friendly and the place was very clean.

Lorna & Karl, the managers, are brilliant: and have been since our first visit here back in 2008. And if you have kids don't hesitate just book it. Port Charlotte is the best hostel in the West :)

Both dinner and breakfast were very good, with courteous and friendly staff. View from the restaurant was fabulous. Great location in the centre of town in close proximity to all amenities as well as the Bowmore Distillery.

Great location, clean comfortable rooms, great bar and restaurant for breakfast (included) and dinner.

Breakfast is OK, what makes this a good stay are the the hosts Lorna og Karl which are very friendly helpful and service minded. The facilities are very good, one of the best youth hostels we have tried. the location is beautiful and a good central location for the island.

It's a youth hostel so you can't expect 5* facilities, but the place was clean and the staff was very pleasant and helpful (which is very useful on your first visit to Islay)

This was yet the best hostel I've ever experienced. There were comfortable, clean and softy beds, completely arranged kitchen, lounge with desk games and TV, free parking. And on top of it very kind personnel.

The location of this property is perfect and you are in a great location for visiting all the sights within easy reach. We were here for the whisky and being able to walk to Bruichladdich was amazing as neither of us had to drive that day. Lovely walk along the safe path to Port Ellen was a really good place to let the dogs off lead safely.
