Great location and a perfect size for a couple. The caretaker was lovley and friendly and the place was very clean.
Lorna & Karl, the managers, are brilliant: and have been since our first visit here back in 2008. And if you have kids don't hesitate just book it. Port Charlotte is the best hostel in the West :)
Both dinner and breakfast were very good, with courteous and friendly staff. View from the restaurant was fabulous. Great location in the centre of town in close proximity to all amenities as well as the Bowmore Distillery.

Great location, clean comfortable rooms, great bar and restaurant for breakfast (included) and dinner.
Great location short walk to the ferry as a foot passenger it was easy to reach. No hot breakfast but the continental was brilliant, cereal , toast , yogurt , fresh fruit, pots of tea or coffee. As a single female I felt safe. The staff were helpful and friendly
The hosts are very nice and helpful. The location on loch Indaal is superb. Dining hall and lodge are perfect; and very well maintained. Pot Charlotte restaurants were full when we arrived, as I did not book in advance, (even though I was warned to do so by the Youth Hostel) but hosts helped !
As a youth hostel it has the bare minimum required for a good value for money
The crew was exceptionaly nice and welcoming. They made sure we'll get the best the place has to offer. I believethat the place is the best you can expect from a youth hostel
