Less than 5 minutes’ walk from the centre of Penrith, Wayfarers Independent Hostel provides comfortable accommodation to Lake District visitors. We stayed in the apartment and it was immaculately clean and really well stocked! The common areas were also top notch.

Surrounded by lovely greenery in the heart of vibrant Keswick centre, YHA Keswick is just a 10-minute walk from Lake Derwentwater. It features a restaurant and self-catering kitchen. Location was amazing. Rushing water right at the front door. Could sit and watch it all day. Lots of nice places to sit watching the water rush past while you enjoyed a coffee or wine. Rooms comfortable and shared bathrooms were new, close by and kept very clean. Kitchen was large and easy to navigate with other people staying there.

Set in a stunning Regency mansion overlooking Esthwaite Water, YHA Hawkshead stands within beautiful grounds just a mile from Hawkshead village. The location is superb and we did not expect it to be like this. All facilities were available and the people were very helpful for anything that we required. Thank you

Located in Thirlmere, Fisher-gill Camping Barn offers free onsite parking and a terrace. Beautiful location, driving there in the evening was lovely with it nestled in between the hills! Was expecting the basics because it's a barn, but had good shower, bathroom, kitchen that was VERY well equipped (microwave, fridge, cooking gear, kettle, plates, cutlery). You will need some coins for the shower but it lasts so long that you can probably let everyone in the barn shower with that pound! The host even put the fire on without us knowing to help dry our clothes/boots which was lovely. I saw a few previous reviews that said it was dirty on the floor.....i would like to make it clear that it is a BARN. The floor is dusty because people are walking around with their boots on, but everything else is spotless. It will be as clean as the people visiting allow it to be. Would definitely stay again, if you want a basic but lovely accommodation and if you're looking to walk all day and sleep in a warm bed at night for a cheap price it is perfect.

With a central location 4 minutes’ drive from the train station, Kirkby Stephen Hostel lies between Cumbria’s Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. I could just check in, without someone being available at the hostel. And the building itself is just perfect. Thanks a lot.

Situated in the Cumbrian countryside, conveniently located to visit the Lake District, YHA Helvellyn has on-site free parking and a bar. Very friendly staff, tasty food, clean property.
