Situated in San Juan, 100 metres from Isla Verde, Nomada Beach Hostel- Isla Verde features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a private beach area. This is a great hostel, especially for a city hostel, I liked everything about it. Was a good mix of people staying there, lots of chill out space, and also near the beach and restaurants.

Set in Luquillo, 300 metres from La Pared Beach, Casa Coral offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Casa Coral was very clean, fantastic location and the staff were so helpful.

Located in Saint-François, 500 metres from Raisins Clairs Beach, Sunset Surf Camp provides accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a bar. Sunset Surf Camp is such a lovely place! From the moment I arrived I felt like home. The energy in this place is incomparable. The pool is so nice and Peyo and Babette, the hosts, are very nice and welcoming. I would 100% stay at Sunset Surf Camp again. The wifi works very well, the kitchen is well equipped, the rooms are comfortable and clean (I stayed in a single bedroom). I also met some amazing people during my stay here so if you are a solo traveler, this is PERFECT for you. The beach, bakery and convenience store are an 8min walk from the hostel. There is also a bar right next to it which is really fun for dancing, meeting people and having good drinks. I can’t wait to come back!

Situated in Santa Bárbara de Samaná, within 1.6 km of Cayacoa Beach and 38 km of Pueblo de los Pescadores, Watermelon House offers accommodation with a garden and free WiFi throughout the property. I stayed at Watermelon House for a week, coming from Santo Domingo. From the moment I contacted them to ask for directions, Bartoz was incredibly kind and helpful. The hostel is simple but definitely worth the price! I booked a private room with a private bathroom. Although there isn’t much natural light in the room, this wasn’t a problem for me because all the good things to explore are outside the hostel. The location was ideal for me as it was the perfect starting point for all the tours I took throughout the week. It’s very close to the Malecón, and there’s a nice variety of restaurants and interesting places nearby. The hostel itself is cozy, and the pets, especially Amazon, are adorable and easy to fall in love with! The breakfast was simple but tasty, and it was such a relief to wake up to a good cup of coffee and something to start the day with. It’s definitely appreciated! I have to mention that power outages are common in the area, but it’s nothing to do with the hostel—it’s something that happens throughout the whole region. It didn’t bother me at all since the locals live with it, and it’s good to be aware of these things. Even so, the hostel has a small generator that powers the WiFi router for about an hour, so you’re not completely disconnected. Valentina, the host, was amazing—super friendly and always welcoming. I even had the chance to visit places and go on an excursion with her, and I had an incredible time!

Located in Montego Bay, 29 km from Luminous Lagoon, The Lodge @ Peaceful Palms provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace. I loved the peacefulness and the view. The pool is amazing and the people were so nice. I booked a dorm room and ended up with a single one. That was so kind of them since I had an exhausting day. I recommend without a doubt. They are accessible via phone and answer very quickly!

Situated in El Yaque and with Playa el Yaque reachable within 100 metres, Sleep'n'Ride features concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi and a shared lounge. Excellent location right on the Yaque beach. Small shops around for the basic needs. Very friendly owner, always around with helpful tips about the area. The facilities are basic, but sufficient - AC in the room (a bit noisy, but it works). A very chill, backpacking vibe.

Situated on Brighton Sea Front, close to Little Bay, Judy House Backpacker Hostel features barbecue facilities and garden. Featuring a terrace, this 3-star hostel has rooms with a shared bathroom. Property was in super relaxed area. Felt super cozy

Offering a year-round outdoor pool and barbecue, Surf Salvacion Boutique Hotel is located in Cabarete in the Puerto Plata Province Region, 500 metres from Encuentro Beach. Babette, the owner was absolutely amazing from the start to the end of our trip. We were 4 girls travelling around the country and she helped us get from the bus top to the hotel, made sure we were able to get food from the local supermarket and arranged travel to our next destination. The hotel itself is beautiful and perfect for relaxing or as a base for everything cabarete has to offer such as surfing. there’s a BBQ for everyone to use, laundry, a pool and the beach is a short walk away as well as a food truck market up the road. Would stay here again and thanks so much for your hospitality!
