Refugio del Turista provides accommodation in Tupiza. There is a seasonal outdoor pool and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. At the hostel, the rooms include a wardrobe. No complaints about the Refugio, bed was good, wifi worked well, basic but good breakfast. We sat out by the pool one afternoon and had a beer, great. Area that you can use in backyard to wash and hang up clothes. Safe and nice staff.

Situated in Villazón, Hostal Casa Grande has a garden, shared lounge, bar, and free WiFi throughout the property. The rooms at the hostel are fitted with a private bathroom fitted with a shower. We were very fortunate indeed as Ivone and Freddy accepted our reservation ahead of their decision to close for a month to renovate. So we had their beautiful personal attention although it seems from reviews (and the greetings from all over the world that have been drawn by past guests and which hang in the cafeteria) that they truly appreciate their guests and treat them all like family. Ivone cooked a very tasty dinner, in the attached cafeteria, for a small price. Breakfast was simple but we enjoyed. Nice shower with hot water. Comfy and spacious double room. Very quiet. We managed with our Spanglish and Freddy speaks English too. Organised us into a taxi to the bus terminal. I am sure all will go well for them with the renovation. I am glad we stayed, albeit only one night. We were headed for Uyuni for our tour. No need to rush to Tupiza when Villazon is quite a nice border town to travel from after a rest and a hug. Great room, lovely hot shower. Had a night Bus and our room was booked but she let us use the communal areas until the evening. Good, very fast laundry service, more expensive than usual but because it's a small town. Comfy beds. Common kitchen area was a big plus.
