The staff is great, bathrooms are clean and - technically - the location is central, however, there were dozens of people acting suspicious every single day/night of my 3 day observation and I actually witnessed a fist fight 15m from the front door in what seems to be a shady restaurant/bar. I started asking around and according to information received from 2 different people in 2 different restaurants, the street and surrounding alleys are high traffic for heavy drug activity so I wouldn’t stay again or recommend the hostel just because of that.
Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
The decoration was really great, great location, had a nice rooftop and the bedroom had everything you needed and it was spacious! I would like to highlight the fact the Windows had sound proof sponges attached to them, wich made the room really quiet even when it was facing one of coimbra's main streets.
Good communication with host, who allowed us an earlier check-in to accommodate our booking to see the University and library. Good location, relatively close to the university, with a good supermarket nearby. Safe (although not cheap) parking below the complex.
I had a dormitory at the top of the building with single beds and it was super beautiful and comfy, also very clean! The hostel staff is very friendly and helpful! I had way too much luggage and they helped me with bringing it in and setting it up in the room. It has THE BEST location! In the very centre of Coimbra, just next to the arch! I love this place, definitely coming back :)
A great budget hotel...small but cheap and cheerful..lovely staff, spotlessly clean, great location and the balcony a bonus..great air con/heating system, daily clean and fresh towels.
Not the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in, not the worst. Rooms were neat and tidy, bathrooms could have been cleaner but nothing horrendous. Some staff were super friendly and helpful, others not so much. Guess it all depends on the day. Great location though!
Great location, right in the centre of old town and close to everything. Bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and they had towels included. The hostel and location felt very safe for me as a solo female traveller.
Great location, comfy beds and kind staff. I was in a room for 10 people at the (sort of like) attic, but since it wasn't full, I slept in peace and undisturbed for straight 9 hours. One of the best hostels I've stayed at!
Perfect location but not noisy, nice staff, locker with key and place to charge just next to every bed. It's nice to have a single bed in the dorm instead of bunk beds.
For me the best hostel in coimbra
