Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
Everything :). We left Down South 118 feeling happy, refreshed, and with a heavy heart, having had such a lovely time.
The location was incredible sitting literally right on the sea front, where having an early morning breakfast or an evening drink was stunning.
The food was super and in comparison to Dubai - incredibly cheap. It was freshly cooked and always with minimal wait. The staff were very professional, kindly, and could not do enough for us.
We will come back for sure and would recommend this lovely little hotel to everyone.
Great location - close to the town centre where there are plenty of restaurants, cafés and a mall. Tuktuks pass all the time and they are super cheap.
15 minutes to harbour. 30 minutes to whale shark visits.
Direct access to the sea and small beaches where you can see countless turtles swimming around! Host is very friendly and gives lots of great tips.
First was the friendly staff, the hotel was overmanned by nice people. We were upgraded to a better room with a view on the second floor. Food was great and cheap. They cooked for us for the stuff we bought in the market. We had an awesome moment at the pool. Their cocktails are good and cheap.
Great find, located right on the Waterfront. Just 15 minutes by tricycle to the whalesharks and a couple of minutes to the ferry for Pangloa The staff here are absolutley lovely and so helpful, especially Angie! They sorted our whaleshark trip out, our ferry to Pangloa and the tricycle driver. Good breakfast included and cheap prices for main meals. Great value for money, small, quiet place with everything you need for a few days in Oslob. Good WiFi and aircon.
If you want to see the whale sharks the staff help you at the hotel and at the location of the sharks. They were great. You don’t need to reserve, just arrive as early as you can (we arrived at 5am) and get in the walk-in queue. The hotel have staff who help you through it and shuttle you to and from. That’s the only reason we’d recommend staying here. Cheap and easy for whale sharks but if you have a larger budget stay elsewhere.
Late check inn was no problem, comfortable room, very helpful and friendly staff. Nothing was a problem.
Relaxing atmosphere and the property is on the edge of the sea. Magic little place for a budget conscious traveller.
All night staff member and gates are shut at night, making it a secure and safe place to stay. I would have liked to stay longer 😁
