La Embajada Hostel Bacalar, hotel in Bacalar

La Embajada Hostel Bacalar has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and bar in Bacalar. The accommodation features a shared kitchen and free WiFi throughout the property.

Very good value for money compared to other hostels in the area. Staff really friendly and helpful (particularly in sorting a taxi for me to the bus station). There was a temporary issue with the water supply during my stay which meant no running water at all for about 24 hours - but this not the hostel’s fault (a city issue) and they handled it as well as they could have. Very friendly dogs. Nice level of sociable - good to get to know some nice people and then go to Che to drink/party. There was a lovely family dinner when I was there too.

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in! The rooms and common areas are really nice and clean. The kitchen is well equipped, really big and pretty clean. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Location is pretty good. They offer a lot activities to meet people and have a good time!

It's cheap and completely different than other hostels, so no regrets staying 1 night. The location is fine, very close to the lake, but longer walk to the center. The studio was cozy, but since it contains windows/gaps without insect screens, the mosquito net (included) was necessary.

I loved to stay here. You pay a hostel price but get your own little room, with fan and mosquito net. I liked the outdoor showers and the breakfast in the morning, freshly prepared by friendly Delmar. Also Zulie who was there during the day was very friendly and helpful. The lagoon with the huge pier is just around the corner, also there are some cheap alternative food places which are open late, and they are very cheap. If I am back in Bacalar I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Nice hostel with a great location, good vibe, very friendly and helpful staff. Especially Humberto went the extra mile and printed out some needed papers outside the hostel. Excellent service.

What a fantastic place. Such good value for money. Brilliant location of you’re looking to stay in the town. We spent a few days directly on the lake before staying here. This was place was way cheaper and we preferred it to our hotel by some distance. Comfy, cosy, clean, safe, air conditioned and also had Netflix which was a nice treat after long days in the sun. So many great restaurants and cafes nearby. Wish we stayed here for the entirety of our time in Bacalar. If you’re on a budget you won’t regret staying here!

Very nice social hostel. Lots of activities. I booked one night to make friends and after I stayed at a cheaper place but you can still walk into the hostel and participate with activities, as its also opened for restaurant or party guests. Also great location.

The hostel is well taken care of, great location, clean, social activities. Just on the water, nice place to chill. Big lockers, friendly helpful staff, felt really safe also. Nice restaurant but a bit overpriced.
