Staff were so lovely and gave me tea upon checking in, they also spoke english making it easy to check in! They were able to store my luggage so I could go explore, which is nice as check in was on the later side. Also were willing to give many recommendations on where to go and what to do/where to eat. Overall quite clean and the small shower was noted on the booking page. Had seperate facilities for the washroom, bathroom and toilet. It is a cosy vibe, had a kitchenette, a laundry machine to be used for a small fee, a lovely workspace, and communal table for other people. The beds were relatively comfy, and plenty of storage for your stuff as well as lockers downstairs for valuables. The bus stop 5 minutes walk away does go to the Togakushi Shrine which is nice! Also walking distance to another amazing shrine and tourist street.

Friendly owner. Somewhat private room, instead of usual hostel setting. Comes with free ticket to the onsen in front of the station. 30 mins stroll to Shibu Onsen. If going to Shiga-kogen, load up with necessities at Lawson Yudanaka Station, as there is not much at Shiga-kogen.

beautiful wooden building with a unique charm. there was a small garden inside the buildong that we could see from our room on the second floor. we got the 6-person family room and it was very spacious with enough space outside the main sleeping area to store bags.

Awesome location, nice clean dorm. For me the close proximity to Nagano station was the highlight.
